I'm going to try and break this down question by question.
To me, the purpose of an embassy is to show that regions have relations with each other and allow inter-regional communication without having to leave your home region.
We open embassies because we wish to have relations with like-minded regions, and through those relations learn more about the other community. Another reason we open embassies is to allow cultural events between regions, such as the one we had for the event with TSP.
What we expect from an embassy partner is both mutual respect, and continued communication in order to allow our citizens to expand their horizons. In my opinion they expect the same from us, and that's something we strive for.
This is both a good, and a tough, question. 10000 Islands has had many embassies over the years, some coming and going. In my opinion an embassy becomes not worth it when the region and community have died off, leaving a quiet shell of what it used to be. Some of those are worth closing, but others are worth adding to our historical embassy list in order to honor our past close relations with the embassies placed there.
The role of a treaty is to bind two governments into an alliance, whether cultural or military. They can also bind two governments into a non-aggression pact, meaning neither would attack the others sovereignty.
I don't think so, but I feel like treaties symbolize the close relationship between two regions and symbolize the fact that one signatory would defend the other in times of need.
In my opinion, it depends on the region and the relationship we have with them. I think we should only sign treaties with regions we are super close with, and which share the same values as us. At this point there are few left out there that fit these qualities, so I don't think we need to sign more treaties than the 4 we have now *unless* they are cultural in nature intended to bring regions closer to us.
What do you believe to be the purpose of an embassy?
To me, the purpose of an embassy is to show that regions have relations with each other and allow inter-regional communication without having to leave your home region.
Why do we open embassies with a region?
We open embassies because we wish to have relations with like-minded regions, and through those relations learn more about the other community. Another reason we open embassies is to allow cultural events between regions, such as the one we had for the event with TSP.
What do we expect from an embassy partner and what do they expect from us?
What we expect from an embassy partner is both mutual respect, and continued communication in order to allow our citizens to expand their horizons. In my opinion they expect the same from us, and that's something we strive for.
At what point is an embassy “not worth it”?
This is both a good, and a tough, question. 10000 Islands has had many embassies over the years, some coming and going. In my opinion an embassy becomes not worth it when the region and community have died off, leaving a quiet shell of what it used to be. What is the role of a treaty?
The role of a treaty is to bind two governments into an alliance, whether cultural or military. They can also bind two governments into a non-aggression pact, meaning neither would attack the others sovereignty.
Do treaties have specific symbolic value?
I don't think so, but I feel like treaties symbolize the close relationship between two regions and symbolize the fact that one signatory would defend the other in times of need.
Generally, should 10000 Islands negotiate more treaties?
In my opinion, it depends on the region and the relationship we have with them. I think we should only sign treaties with regions we are super close with, and which share the same values as us. At this point there are few left out there that fit these qualities, so I don't think we need to sign more treaties than the 4 we have now *unless* they are cultural in nature intended to bring regions closer to us.
