Islanders,
After discussion in the Council of Nine, we have decided to hold an on-site job fair to help fill current vacancies and standing positions. This will be an opportunity for governmental departments and private individuals to find new employees.
The event will take place on the 10000 Islands regional message board during four specific time slots over the course of the weekend between April 3 and April 6. During each time slot, employers will be able to post job advertisements on the RMB and interact with potential employees in real time on the RMB. Employers will be encouraged to ask their employees to sign up on Discord and the regional forum as well. To accompany the event, an on-site Dispatch will be posted and pinned to the World Factbook Entry containing descriptions of all available positions. Each job description for the Dispatch is limited to 300 words.
The available time slots are as follows. Times were selected to maximize variety so that hopefully everyone would be able to make a slot that meets their schedule. This was obviously an imperfect process.
- Friday April 3: 10 AM to 12 PM EDT (2 PM to 4 PM UST).
- Saturday April 4: 8 PM to 10 PM EDT (Apr 5 12 AM to 2 AM UST).
- Sunday April 5: 3 PM to 5 PM EDT (7 PM to 9 PM UST).
Monday April 6: 4 AM to 6 AM EDT (8 AM to 10 AM UST).
In addition, with the permission of political parties overseer Markanite , this will also serve as an opportunity for 10000 Islands political parties to advertise themselves. Political parties may also submit a brief explanation for the on-site Dispatch during the event. Each political party description for the Dispatch is limited to 300 words.
Each time slot will be limited to five potential employers or political parties to avoid overcluttering the RMB. Each political party is limited to two time slots to reserve space for employers to sign up. Each non-governmental employer is limited to two time slots. Governmental employers will have spots rationed if necessary at the discretion of the Minister of Labor. If you sign up for a time slot, you are committing to provide a staff member to answer questions and interact with job candidates during that time slot.
Starting in about a week I will begin promoting the event on-site and putting together further materials. Updates will be posted in this thread.
You may use this thread to ask questions about the process or sign up for time slots (you may also sign up via forum PM). I will contact all political party leaders and various government employers via forum PM. I will also list all claimed time slots below.
I am optimistic this innovative new idea will help fill existing labor vacancies and help integrate on-site members into the forum and Discord communities.
