It’s insane how long XKI has been around. 17 years ago today, we were all so much different and younger, and yet Grub, Titanica, Fleeb, New Bonaventure, and all their friends were saving the region we call home today. If you want more perspective on how old XKI is, I wasn’t even born when XKI’s most important battle ever took place. XKI is older than me!
I’ve kinda asked this already in random places around the forum, but think about what you were doing 17 years ago today, and realize that was the day this community you call home today was saved, and realize for the last 17 (a bit more, technically) years of your live, XKI has been around.
Therefore, congrats to everyone to making this region what is it today!
And to Grub, I’m sure you never expected that this region would last this long. Congrats to you!
I only joined NS a week or two after the Empire of Power battle, but participated alongside nations from 10ki in some of the early Pacific liberation attempts in september and october 2003. I think it's impressive that 10ki so quickly got a defender organisation up and running after the EoP invasion attempt. Grub and Fleeb were the kind of experienced defenders I looked up to when I first started out, so I've always been grateful that I got to spend so many updates organizing defences with them even before I joined 10ki.
To keep a usercreated region and especially a defender military running continuously for so long is pretty amazing. It says a lot about the skill and dedication of so many 10ki players throughout the years.
