World of Tanks or War Thunder? My opinion: WoT is less realistic, but more fun.
Points: World of Tanks: Arcade game Plenty of modes, new stuff consistently added (they're adding a battle royale game mode on Monday.) Lots of experimental, or sometimes entirely fake, tanks. WWII and Cold War-based.
War Thunder: Realistic, but sometimes too much. Various modes DO include arcade, and you can play aircraft and ships. Plenty of modern tanks, as far as I know there are no fakes, but I could be wrong.
I understand if you don't care. For the sake of my ego, please pretend that you do

I like the World of Tanks/World of Warplanes/World of Warships better because my main experience in War Thunder has been accidentally shearing my biplane's wings off and my tank crew getting sniped -- both things that are very realistic but that made the game much harder to enjoy.

In that case you’ll want to play AB or Arcade Battles where your plane’s wings won’t get sheared off.
As for my opinion on World of Tanks vs War Thunder, I prefer WoT’s vehicle unlocking system to WT’s but as for gameplay I prefer War Thunder, as WoTs gameplay, in my opinion, is a bit too arcady for my liking, as well as how shells in WoT randomly spread out. I have mixed feelings about how WT incorporates planes into its ground battles. I think WT is funner overall, though I mostly play aerial battles so I don’t know as much as people who mostly play ground battles.

Glad for the feedback as I was about to try out World of Tanks

War Thunder, if only because that's only one I've actually played. I haven't gotten far yet - I'm doing the British tech tree in Arcade Battles, and the highest BR I've participated in is 3.0 - but it's been enjoyable so far. Rank II was quite a shock for me - while I was pretty great at Rank I, I was quite terrible at Rank II (at BR 3.0 in particular) - but destroying ground targets was so much more satisfying. My most favourite experience yet was playing the 3 inch Gun Carrier in Eastern Europe, trolling the enemy forces: it felt great after I had such a hard time surviving with the Matilda III and Valentine XI.
