In these times, boredom can be an issue. So here's a silly little game to try and alleviate that. You might even learn something 

The rules are fairly simple:
1. Get a number generator (This one might do www.mathgoodies.com/calculators/random_no_custom)

2. Put in 0 for the minimum value and 2020 for the maximum value.

3. Click enter, and it should give you a random number (ex: 1872) . 

4. Look up said number on Wikipedia to get the history page for that year/number

5. Post the most interesting occurrence (In your opinion) in that year in this thread (If you want).

Ex: "On November 27th 1872, a meteor shower of Andromedids is seen over France."

Eleanor re-marries within 6 weeks Henry of Anjou, who had claimed the counties of Anjou and Maine, and the province of Touraine upon the death of his father Geoffrey Plantagenet (the Fair), the previous year. King Stephen of England has his nobles swear fealty to his son Eustace, as the rightful heir of the English throne. Theobald, archbishop of Canterbury, and other bishops refuses to crown Eustace favouring Henry of Anjou to claim the throne instead. Stephen confiscates their property and Theobald is forced into exile in Flanders.

The Crusaders led by King Baldwin I of Jerusalem raid Pelusium in Egypt and burn the city to the ground. Baldwin marches back to Palestine and strengthens the fortifications of the southern frontier.

A nobleman of the line of the late king Beornred, named Berhtric, wishes to marry her but he is a relative. Wigstan refuses the match, and is murdered by followers of Berhtric at Wistow. He is buried at Repton Abbey, and later revered as a saint. The Mercian throne is seized by Berhtric's father, Beorhtwulf.

I did some fishing (On Wikipedia of course) and found this quote about St Wigstan 

"Beorhtfrith, son of Beorhtwulf, king of Mercia, unjustly put to death his cousin, St Wigstan on the Kalends of June [1st June], being the eve of Pentecost. He was grandson of two of the kings of Mercia; his father, Wigmund, being the son of King Wiglaf, and his mother, Ælfflæd, the daughter of King Ceolwulf. His corpse was carried to a monastery which was famous in that age, called Repton, and buried in the tomb of his grandfather, King Wiglaf. 326 - Emperor Constantine the Great travels to Rome to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his accession to power, but while en route at Pola he orders his older son, Crispus Caesar, to be executed, possibly on charges of adultery. Fausta, second wife of Constantine I, is also executed by being suffocated in a hot bath.

This emperor also founded Constantinople, and converted to Christianity on his deathbed.

The Qarmatians, led by Abu Sa'id al-Jannabi, capture Bahrain's capital of Hajr and Al-Hasa (Eastern Arabia). Abu Sa'id makes it his residence and establishes a religious utopian republic.
