This month, Flying Eagles' rocket is ready for launch at the Islands Space Center. The launchpad was cleared for launch with only minimal clouds in the mid-morning. Today, longtime Islander Randomain had the honor of hitting the big red button to start the countdown:

Liftoff!
Flying Eagles' rocket blasted off the launch pad straight and true. It passed out of the upper atmosphere, beyond Earth's orbit, and into lunar orbit without incident. The crew touched down soon after on the lunar surface. Flying Eagles' moon colony was established around the Mare Jesioneka, just above the lunar equator in the eastern hemisphere of the near side of the moon. Sales of freeze-dried ice cream skyrocketed after news reached Earth, leading to an economic boom.
