Some jobs nowadays have become too risky to be done by humans, therefore we have the needs for A.I.
Regarding of A.I's ability to "make their own decisions", such ability is still made by humans through advanced programming. So long as we do not cross the boundary and insert A.I. towards things only humans are supposed to do, I think it A.I. is good for humanity.
Yes until it becomes self-aware, I've seen too many movies to know that self-aware AI doesn't work out. Still, until that point, AI citizenship is a good idea.
Your melody...I hear it loud and clear. Now show it to me. Your conviction...and your smile!

Well....yes, AI can be very helpful to us, but also no, it can be a bit... bad for us too. On the good side, AI can do things really really quickly. And I mean, really quickly. Much quicker than any human. It can calculate complex equations faster than the blink of an eye. It can also help humans in our lives, like for example knowing when to automatically turn on/off the light when someone enters the room, or turning on the telly for some morning news when a person wakes up. But on the other hand, there's still the gloom idea of AI self-awareness, as seen in countless movies like Terminator 2. No one knows exactly what would happen in that situation though. Perhaps the AI will go on a rampage, perhaps the AI will decide to help humans instead. No one can say for sure. There's also the argument against AI that it'll take away some jobs from humans. It's a bit fuzzy, but yes, AI may replace some jobs here and there, but in doing so will create more jobs for humans (like AI assistance, for instance). There's more arguments to this than just what I said here, I just wrote what came to my mind first In my opinion....AI will certainly be helpful to us, but we need to keep a close eye on it. All this reminds me of a statement told by my computer programming teacher whilst we were learning VBA: "Computers are very fast, but dumb"
