Hi there! Maybe you know me from siteside RMB, or maybe my presence from discord. But you might notice something else: I'm new! And what I lack in experience, I make up in an energetic attitude an new ideas. I'm already part of TITO, the recruitment team, emissary to our Partnership for Sovereignty ally Spiritus, and an active member of our Minecraft server. As Senator, I'll contribute to positive environment and promote activities through our houses and house competitions.
Debate Questions:
In recent times, the house system has become a lot more redundant than it ought to be. Do you have any ideas to change this? More house related events possibly?
The house system is directly tied to the forum, and with the low current forum activities by islanders coupled with the lack of house events has caused the system to become near non-existent. But why must it be this way. For me, there are two ways to combat this. One is the obvious, create more events. However, I don't think this alone is enough. Being a relatively new islander, I see why people don't like to interact with the forum much. Yet, there is another platform out there that we are using and is capable of hosting these kinds of things: Discord. Discord is easier to use, has a more modern design, and has a live and engaging feel to it. By emphasizing houses more on Discord, I think we can revive this part of XKI and expand it to more platforms, thus driving more activity.
How often are you on Nationstates?
I am, more or less, on nationstates daily to answer issues. I'm also active in TITO, discord, forum, and RP as my schedule permits.
Could you identify any particular issues within XKI that perhaps doesn’t garner enough attention as it should? How do you think these issues could be solved?
While it does garner attention, the translation of gameside nations to forum and discord activity is an important one that I don't think is being addressed very well. I think we as a region should start putting discord (which is easier to use and has a more modern feel) in the spotlight would help new nations interact without going to the forum which I've found is not very good at retention. We should also have regional officials (like me if I'm elected) post more often on the RMB where they would be able to gain visibility and seem more friendly to newer nations. This'll help bridge the gap and encourage newer nations to start moving offsite.
Will you be able to vote on every legislature change that comes to the Co9?
Yes, if I'm on nationstates (which is likely), I'll make a decision on Co9 legislation.
Will your political party affiliation come into play in your decision making?
No, all my decisions will be from me alone.
Do you plan to hire a deputy? If so, what is the criteria you will use to select them?
I do not have any current plans to hire a deputy. However, if over the course of my term a the opportunity arises, I am open to hiring one.
What is the primary goal you hope to achieve during your term?
As I've stated before, my main goal is to transition houses to discord and create house events/activity over on that platform.
Have you had any experience in government positions? If so, how will the experience you have gained aid you in your term?
Nope I haven't served in a government position, but am a part of many regional organizations.
