Early 10000 Islands and TITO History

This is intended to serve as an opening history of XKI and TITO from conception to present and is by no means a comprehensive history. All footnotes should contain links to the relevant citation, however, some things fall under 'common knowledge' that simply have no recorded source.
In the Beginning: March, 2003 - XKI is founded
XKI came into existence before the 'founder' role even existed on NationStates, but when the feature was added, the nation of Grub would assume the role. (1)
The Ten thousand Islands Treaty Organization, or TITO, started in the early days as a roleplay defense treaty on the Regional Message Board (RMB) (2) where many early nations spent their time on ingame roleplay.
TITO would soon be called upon on July 30, 2003, XKI was attacked by the Empire of Power (EoP). XKI had less than 30 nations at the time, and had received early warning about the attack. As Empire of Power entered XKI, XKI sent out a plea for help to other regions and some of them came to our aid, including Texas, the Urbanites, The Rejected Realms, and others (3).
At the most critical moment, XKI survived by one single endorsement that prevented the Empire of Power from seizing the region. The stand-off would continue for 2 more days, but help flooded in and it became clear that the Empire of Power had been defeated. (4)
After this critical event, XKI signed alliances with Texas and the Urbanites. TITO became a force for defending the 10000 Islands, but also for defending other regions when they were unjustifiably attacked.
November 24th, 2003 would be the official start of the XKI forum! (5)
XKI would go on to form its constitution with the help of the nation Parthini, starting on December 11, 2003 and ending in early January of 2004, which still stands to this day. The 4 Senatorial and 3 Ministerial positions were created at this time. Loresong would be the first Minister of Immigration, Fleeb would be the first Minister of Education, and Orange Karma would be the first Minister of Labor. Read the Constitutional history here.
Late December, 2003 would also mark around this time that XKI had already become the 2nd largest user-created region in NationStates in a short amount of time. (6)
In April, 2004 XKI's founder, Grub, was deleted by NS Moderators after some confusion surrounding spam clearing, but after moderator review Grub's nation was restored. (7)
Finally, on October 19, 2004, XKI would go on to annex the region of the Empire of Power and leave the region as a reminder of the past. The region can still be seen here.
Moving Forward: XKI gains momentum
In November, 2004 TITO Expeditionary Forces (EF) would be launched to expand the reach of TITO and make TITO more accessible to those unable to be active during key mission times. (8)
It's also in December of 2004 that TITO hits 250 completed missions (9) and would move into occupying The DEN, a reincarnation of a then well-known raider organization, which marked the tipping point of TITO's hard fought campaign to dismantle the organization. (10)
In December, 2006, TITO would hit another milestone of 500 completed missions and 2006 also saw the introduction of Influence to NationStates. (11)
March 8, 2008 would celebrate the anniversary of 5 years of XKI's existence! (12)
July, 2009 would mark 1000 missions for TITO. (13)
XKI would first be commended by the World Assembly Security Council in August of 2009, but then it would be repealed in October of 2009 due to poor writing. (14) (15)
The commendation would not be replaced until 2010 and still stands to this day. Read it here.
In late 2010, XKI and Lone Wolves United would go to war, but would not see conclusion until 2019 as LWU diminished in activity. (16) (17)
2013 celebrated 10 years of XKI! (18)
2014 brought the XKI stock exchange as we now know it, along with the economic redo of AMWERP which gives us the economic system we know today. (19) (20)
But many more changes would come...
To the Present: Where We Are Now
After much growth, in July 22, 2017, XKI's original founder, Grub, would step down and invoke Article 2.2 of the constitution which would appoint Woonsocket as the new Chief Executive of the region. (21)
August, 2017 would also bring the XKI Discord officially into existence! (22)
Further change came as XKI signed its first ever treaty with The Rejected Realms, a long time ally, in November of 2018. XKI would go on to sign treaties with Yggdrasil, The South Pacific, and The East Pacific as time went on. (23) (24)
Then, in February of 2019, Woonsocket would also step down as Chief Executive and pass the role to Markanite to where we find ourselves now. (25)
