Hello, hello and welcome to the March 2022 Election Questions! This month there are an astounding four elections occurring. The seats for Delegate, Himes West, Lyonesse East, and New Republica South are being contested. I don't want to keep you, so without further ado, here are the questions!

Questions for all candidates:

When did you join XKI?

How active would you consider yourself? Where have you been active? (Discord, RMB, etc.)

Have you ever held any previous government positions, whether it be in XKI or in other regions? If so, how will the experience aid you during your term?

Once in office, do you plan on having a deputy? If so, how will you determine which candidate to choose?

What do you hope to achieve while in office?

What do you believe is XKI's strongest quality?

Should XKI sign more treaties and alliances with other regions, or is the status quo adequate?

When did you join XKI?

Around may 2020.

How active would you consider yourself? Where have you been active? (Discord, RMB, etc.)

While I'm not the most chatty person, I am available most of the time, checking in often in our platforms.

Have you ever held any previous government positions, whether it be in XKI or in other regions? If so, how will the experience aid you during your term?

I've been emissary to various regions as well as deputy councilmember and MoI. This experience helps me understand how things work in Foreign Affairs, and our government in general.

Once in office, do you plan on having a deputy? If so, how will you determine which candidate to choose?

I plan on keeping the FA Secretary. At the moment I don't plan on hiring a secretary of state.

What do you hope to achieve while in office?

Better on-site communications. And improving our FA standing.

What do you believe is XKI's strongest quality?

Our community, that alone is a large part of why we have continued existing for almost 2 decades and have been able to maintain our position in all those years.

How will you determine which proposals in the General Assembly (GA) and Security Council (SC) to approve?

By the quality of the proposal, and how they affect our interests.

Do you intend on keeping the "delegate's prerogative" option on the forum WA votes?

Yes.

Will you seek out new regions to have embassies with?

Yes, while we have many already that doesn't mean that we should limit ourselves only to those.

How will you decide who to send as emissary/ambassador to allied regions?

Depends on the experience of the emmisary, ideally, a more experienced emmisary would go to a larger region, while a less experienced one would go to a smaller one.

Should XKI sign more treaties and alliances with other regions, or is the status quo adequate?

We should continue signing more treaties/alliances with those who we share good relations and values with.

Do you plan to draft any resolutions? Will you encourage others to do so?

At this moment I do not plan on writing one, and yes, if any islander wishes to write a resolution I completely encourage it.

How do you plan to encourage more XKI residents to join the WA?

By promoting citizenship and what benefits it brings.

What would you like to improve upon from the previous delegate's two terms?

In my opinion, Wisch's terms were great, the only thing I would like to improve specifically from her terms is getting the discussion and voting threads time before the resolution is up.

When did you join XKI?
I arrived in July of 2019, mostly residing in the RMB. I joined the discord first for N-Day of the same year, and then to the regional server in April 2020, as well as to the forums, though I did not really use them until March 2021.

How active would you consider yourself? Where have you been active? (Discord, RMB, etc.)
I would say that I am rather active around XKI. I talk in the discord server every day, as on the RMB. On the forums, I can usually be seen in Taco Island, or around the Grand Debate Hall whenever there's a debate

Have you ever held any previous government positions, whether it be in XKI or in other regions? If so, how will the experience aid you during your term?
Yes, I was the senator for NRS from May 2021 until January of this year. It is self-evident that my experience as senator for NRS will help me throughout my term, if elected.

Once in office, do you plan on having a deputy? If so, how will you determine which candidate to choose?
Yes, I do plan on having a deputy, as I had one during my last tenure. I will determine them based on how active they are in the Grand Debate Hall, whether they post debates, etc.

What do you hope to achieve while in office?
I would like for the Grand Debate Hall to be more active!

What do you believe is XKI's strongest quality?
XKI is a very closely knit community, making sure everyone is happy, encouraging each other, doing things together. I think that is XKI's strongest quality.

How active are you in the Grand Debate Hall?
I am quite active, participating many debates in the Grand Debate Hall.

Are there any changes you would like to make to the Grand Debate Hall?
Other than the weekly debates, I think the Grand Debate Hall does not need any great changes

What kind of polls do you intend to post in the Grand Debate Hall? How frequently will you post?
Similar to polls that I have done in my previous tenure, which can be seen in the Grand Debate Hall. I do have in my some other debates, though, I'll see about them. I will post at least once a week.

Do you have any novel proposals in mind for the Grand Debate Hall?
Just the weekly debates.

How do you plan to promote the Grand Debate Hall?
I'll mention the Grand Debate Hall whenever there is a debate posted in the Hall, as well as from time to time, to encourage islanders to post debates

I am quite active in ATA. So if I was elected I would definitely

What events do you have in mind to host for our RP?
Different ones including my current Fantasy RP, A Cold War, and a Modern Roleplay.

What do you want to improve about role-play in XKI?
Expanding and adding more roleplays and making different plans to expand current activity on discord and ATA.

Do you plan to bring anything new to A Taco Archipelago? If so, what?
Possibly some rule changes regarding sizes and manpower as the current system is pretty flawed and annoying for both small and big nations.

When did you join XKI?

I joined XKI in February 2019, shortly after I created my nation. It has been over two years since I’ve joined, and I’ve loved every minute of it.

How active would you consider yourself? Where have you been active? (Discord, RMB, etc.)

Overall, I am pretty active. I check the offsite forum and NS every day; I check Discord almost every day. I tend to avoid the RMB due to the shear frequency of posts, but I will occasionally post an “Endorse Wischland” reminder or a link to a new poll on there.

Have you ever held any previous government positions, whether it be in XKI or in other regions? If so, how will the experience aid you during your term?

I have held several positions in XKI, none in other regions. I am currently the Casino Shift Manager at the XKI Casino and the Chair of TIBOE. I was the Deputy Senator for New Republica South and Blue Canaria North for several months before becoming the Interim Senator for NRS.

These experiences have taught me a lot about responsibility. Every position I have held/continue to hold has placed time constraints on me. I had to get numerous things done by a certain date. Learning to deal with these time constraints has helped me become more reliable and consistent in my work performance, and I believe this will improve my performance as Senator for NRS. These previous positions have increased my interactions with the XKI community, and I believe that these interactions have also helped me become better at my jobs.

Once in office, do you plan on having a deputy? If so, how will you determine which candidate to choose?

Currently, I do not see much reason for me to have a deputy. My schedule allows me to easily handle the responsibilities of the NRS Senator. However, I may reconsider my position after hosting a couple of debates. I cannot be moderating 24/7, and if issues repeatedly arise while I am offline, I may hire a deputy to assist me in moderating.

What do you hope to achieve while in office?

Not only do I want to uphold the standards set by my predecessors, but I want to make the Debate Hall even better! I hope to increase participation in polls and establish active debates. Currently, most people will post once on a poll, and that’s it. I would love to see extended conversations over topics occurring.

What do you believe is XKI's strongest quality?

Hmm, this is a hard one…just kidding! The strongest quality of XKI has to be its diverse and welcoming community. When I first arrived in XKI, everyone was very friendly and helpful, answering any and every question I had about NS and XKI. Within a few days, I had already begun to assimilate into the community and had become familiar with many of the nations.

How active are you in the Grand Debate Hall?

I’m very active in the Grand Debate Hall. I participate in every poll and check the Hall for new posts daily.

Are there any changes you would like to make to the Grand Debate Hall?

I wouldn’t change anything about the current Grand Debate Hall. Instead, I’d like to focus on adding to and improving the Grand Debate Hall with new monthly debates and better-than-ever polls!

What kind of polls do you intend to post in the Grand Debate Hall? How frequently will you post?

I intend to post polls on lighthearted, interesting topics every week. The polls may also be humorous, including joke options and/or revolving around a silly topic.

Do you have any novel proposals in mind for the Grand Debate Hall?

I would love to host monthly debates in the Grand Debate Hall. They would revolve around serious, relevant topics in the news and would be a place for extended, deep conversations.

How do you plan to promote the Grand Debate Hall?

Whenever a new poll or debate is posted, I plan to promote it on Discord and the RMB to increase participation.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing XKI RP right now?

How will you incentivize new members to get involved in RP?

What is your stance on character RPs? (Players roleplay and control individual characters, instead of different nations.)

What does being a defender mean to you?

Do you have any special plans for XKI’s presence in the PfS, including potential delegation changes, or ideas you want to push for?

What is the biggest challenge XKI faces on the interregional stage?

Should XKI seek closer relations of some kind with independent regions, like Thaecia, TNP and Europeia?

To defend the right to self-sovereignty of all communities which haven't forsaken their own sovereignty by exclusively raiding, as well as to take any good opportunity to strike back at those who dedicate themselves to the destruction of other communities. (goes without saying that OOC problematic regions shouldn't be defended)

Other than possibly some minor delegation changes, no, at this moment I do not have any further plans for it.

Our isolationism, up until 2018 we hadn't been able to effectively use our influence as one of the biggest defender user-created regions in the game due to that, although as mentioned we have been getting better at solving that.

Depends. For example, we already have embassies established with our friends over at Thaecia, and I could see our relationship with them flourish even further. However, regions that have been historically more on the raider side of things I would lean against it.
