Minister of Education Porflox is seeking Islanders to serve as Buddies. These people must be active enough to send messages to new nations, answer their questions, and ensure they feel welcome and at home.
*This is also being made a standing position per Porflox's request. This thread will be archived eventually but the listing on the Job Opportunities board will remain.* All job candidates must disclose their positions of responsibility in other regions or organizations, as per NS 276-2:
2. If a citizen holds a position of responsibility in any region or organization other than 10000 Islands, they have to declare said positions in their application for a government position.
3. In case their declared positions and the positions they apply for are in direct conflict of interest (for example, applying for recruiter here, and being a recruiter in another region), the citizen is disallowed from holding that position, unless they relinquish their position elsewhere.
2. For the purposes of this act, a position of responsibility is a broader term to define the functions of any citizen of 10000 Islands either in this region, in any other region, or in any inter-regional organization. This includes regional officers, government officials, deputies, and so on.
Would it be ok if I approach a new nation and ask them if they want a welcome buddy?
I can't imagine they would say no, but you should ask Porflox. Also, you could ask them if they'll have you as a formal Welcome Buddy, meaning you'll get paid our currency, Tacos, for each nation you welcome!
