In the belly of House Sword, a vast network lies embedded beneath the bedrock. Arcane tunnels, kept to a controlled humidity and temperature by titanic ventilation machines, breathe through concealed vents as they cradle an arsenal of the present and of eras gone by.
From the primary artery, tendrils stretch and divide. Here, one might find the dance of blades; there, the whistle of arrows. There are several firing ranges, most of them suited for general use but deeper still, echoes of explosions and the hum of deadly bolts of energy. Whispers of arcane power, too volatile to touch, linger at the fringes. The smell of machine oil permeates.
A single elevator, a link to the world above, caters to the needs of the House. Always mobile, sometimes admitting guests, it carries a service desk to heed the call.
Vast chambers house sleeping titans of war — iron beasts awaiting assembly, wings that once touched the sky now dormant beneath the soil. Adjacent, shelves of contingencies: survival tools, the beating heart of the House's mechanics, and the hum of power in waiting.
Though confined to a mere 3 kilometers beneath, the labyrinth of branching paths, if unfurled into one straight tunnel, would be just shy of 70 kilometers long.
The rare jewels of history remain untouched, while abundant copies of more common weapons ensure the House always has the firepower to deal with unwanted guests.
Somewhere deep in the complex is a three bedroom apartment with a Kaltic flag hanging from the door. The accommodations include a kitchenette connected to the living room, a separate bathroom in the master bedroom, and an electrically cooled wine rack. There's also a mainframe computer that functions as a smart home controller, personal computer, gaming console, TV tuner, and security system controller. You're not supposed to know about it, though. That's why it's in small text.
