Yesterday I sent a brief telegram to almost all UN nations listed in XKI but who I hadnt ever seen in the forum or on the forum members list. A couple of them have signed up to the forum BUT Grub hasn't registered their nations ( yet?) so they can't see the voting booth.

Grub will only allow those nations who are already UN nations to vote. If they join the UN during the voting week then they will not get to vote. Make sure all new forum members are UN.

Thats good. They still have plenty of time to vote. Are you sure they will vote for our candidate. Boonswaggle needs three votes to tie.
can never be sure BUT so far they did..the score had a diff of 5 and now just 3 and another signed in today. Just told'em in the telegram that I didn't know if they were registered to the forum or not but that a very close senate race was going on and to please consider helping out with the dark horse candidate Boonswaggle. saw too that Grub registered their nations ( I'd posted on the rmb about that too) I'd exclusively telegrammed nations that were already UN..so no worry about the new UN status nations not voting except that:

You need to have been a registered member of the region before the election began.
Is THAT true? Fleeb is 'global moderator', so one wonders, as the position global moderator isn't clearly defined anywhere..This wasn't true in previous elections...and it doesn't bid well for the region if UN nations are encouraged to register to the forum and then can't vote. Has there been a new silent ruling? If true, this certainly takes the hope out of campaigning.
Of course, there's no transparency about the voting anyway, and when the vote counter, who nations are obliged to trust, publicly endorses candidates, and consults the global moderators instead of listening to co9 ANYTHING can happen. How very Bush-Gore, which was decided by the US Supreme court and we all know who is the XKI Supreme court!

UPDATE: I received a telegram from one of those UN nations that registered to the forum, thanking me for the help and stating that they'd voted for Boonswaggle, yay! SO what Fleeb wrote to the 'Time to vote thread' is not accurate.

This might nto be popular, but with the short amount of time to go, and the extremely large hill to climb, I've conceded the election. Estay is a decent guy and I don't want to drag this further through any mud, so I've stepped aside and taken the honorable way out.

"It ain't over til it's over" Yogi Berra famously stated. I understand the reasons for the concession but that's like Andrew Cuomo in 2002, when, after running against Carl McCall for the Democratic nomination for Governor of New York for months, decided to concede two days before Primary Day, thus making the entire process of stumping for votes and turning Democrats against each other, a waste. If you knew you couldn't pull out of the deficit, you could've just let it ride and conceded tomorrow when it was official. Who knows if there were any undecideds waiting until the last minute and you've convinced them either not to vote at all or to vote for Estay, thus undermining the democratic rights those voters have.

Maybe next time Boonswaggle. But if you had not conceded who knows. Maybe it would have turned out like what happened to President Truman.
Read this:
""Dewey Defeats Truman" On the morning after the 1948 presidential election, the Chicago Daily Tribune's headline read "DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN." That's what the Republicans, the polls, the newspapers, the political writers, and even many Democrats had expected. But in the largest political upset in U.S. history, Harry S. Truman surprised everyone when he, and not Thomas E. Dewey, won the 1948 election for president of the United States."

And another bit of history: Technically there should be no period after the S in Harry S Truman. That is because the "s" doesn't actually stand for anything. Both of his grandfathers had names beginning with "s" so he was given "S" for both of them. Though Truman himself used a period when signing his name. This concludes another presentation of "Things You Will Probably Never Ever Need Or Want To Know....Ever"
