Here is the official quarterly economic report of the 10000 Islands. This report has been complied by our old time economist who lives in our isles and is only known by the name of Mortimer.
October 2009 - Nations continued to develop in the 10000 Islands and our region ended the quarter as the #10 overall for NationStates in terms of population, #3 overall in terms of user created regions. While the population grew and some sectors did well, concerns about XKI economics slowed this growth. Attached are the final results of the Mortimer Report for October, 2009. There are great many factors that have been compiled to bring you these reports.
Farming:
With the new amount of immigrants into the region, labor for the region was in lower demand, but farming profits remained at a good level. Unfortunately, there was a drought and that ate up all profits. All farms produced 0
in profit this quarter.
Mining:
There were no great gains in mining this quarter and each mine produced 0 in profit.
Shipping:
Some shipping was added this quarter and shipping fleets also became more efficient. Each shipping fleet earned 3,000 in profit.
Factories:
Factories are currently the hardest and most costly to build on the 10000 Islands map. With their steep price tag, few nations can afford these modern marvels, and unfortunately, factories performed below expectations this quarter. All factories produced 5,000 in net losses.
