As an avid supporter of Grub and our Great Region I have made it a point to Telegram (in NS) all new nations that come to the 10000 Islands. I simply say hello and welcome.
I think it is good to welcome people (especially good avid players) in the hopes that they feel welcome stay and thus making the 10000 Islands stronger.
I hope I am not over stepping my boundries are taking away someone elses duty. I am happy to do it and if you wish I will help anyone who may already do this.

I also tend to tg most new nations, but I don't see any downside in having more than one person welcome them.
