Foundation: Towards the end of the former Dictatorship of Palaeotarchus (DoP), the state was ruthlessly unkind to her citizens. Nevertheless, In existence since 10th Century AD, it enjoyed rich history and culture. However, due to their size, DoP rarely saw international interest. Strict immigration, tourism and ‘breeding’ laws kept the population down to a minimum. Somewhat Xenophobic, DoP was very much a mystery to many outsiders.
Palaeon Rebellion: As the government predicted, a group of like minded individuals eventually launched a revolution. In 1972, the rebellion was a success and so was formed a more liberal, democratic society in its place; The United Kingdom of Palaeotarch (UKP). However, it was during this time of political unrest that many unique items of historical and cultural significance were lost to neighbouring nations. It was also at this time when all forms of government funded military was disbanded. However, reinstatement of the armed forces is under deliberation.
International Relation after Palaeon Rebellion: After liberation from the tyranny of a dictatorship, the UKP extended its international relations. Still very small in size, they had little authority over the 10000 Islands, but sought to grow as a nation.
Fluctuation in Political and Civil rights: Since the rebellion in the 1970’s, political and civil rights in the UKP have fluctuated. Politicians seek freedom, but believe that there must be some measure of restriction. Citizens may not, to put it plainly, ‘do whatever they like’. There must be order. And so, certain rights are restricted. Yet there is a strong sense of equality amongst the citizens of UKP, as the nation is highly tolerant of all peoples and cultures.
