Pepsi vs Coke - the Eternal Fight

I prefer Pepsi.

Pepsi Max being my favourite, then Pepsi, then Diet Pepsi.

Coke always leaves a harsh aftertase and Diet Coke is like water.

Plus Pepsi comes on 600ml bottles that most corner shop owners have at the same price as a 500ml Coke.

Who voted for "weird local brand"? And what is your local brand of cola? I'm genuinely curious...

I'm a firm believer in the superiority of Coca-Cola. In fact, I've been known to avoid restaurants that serve Pepsi. (Although Pepsi establishments usually have Dr. Pepper, so at least there's something I can drink.) I think the secret to Coke being better is that it isn't quite as sweet and uses liberal amounts of real vanilla. (Most sodas use the much cheaper synthetic vanillin.)

Coke is SO much better than Pepsi. Of course, my favourite is the local weird brand. Actually several local weird brands, none of which are cola drinks, so perhaps they don't count. I really like Dr. Brown's black cherry soda. It is a weird brand, but not local. And it's owned by Pepsi, so I may simply be talking out of my ass here. I also love Canada Dry ginger ale, sadly, now owned by an American company.

Oh yeah, I love a variety of "weird local brands" of soda that aren't cola... I really love Thomas Kemper's root beer and ginger ale, and the rest of their sodas are good as well. Sadly, I don't care for the most local of local soda brands, Jones Soda.

Coca-cola for myself. I have drank pepsi and it's all right, but it always tastes watered down and a tad bit syruppy sweet. It's probably my regional roots or just that my tastebuds have become ennamelled towards coke, but oh well. Besides all this debate, I don't even drink any type of soda anymore.

When I was a kid, you would still find an occasional restaurant or vending machine that sold Royal Crown Cola.... but I never see it around anymore.
