News and stuff with Ketab and Friends

So the basic idea of this thread is to get insight on news both in the real world and in-game.

Every so often (hopefully everyday but I can make no guarantees) I or someone that I may appoint will post a real-world or in-game news story and anyone can give their input.

HOWEVER. Your input must be brief, to the point, and NOT a run-on. Most responses should be less than three sentences. Comedic responses are welcome, but please make sure they are related to the topic.

At the end of the week I will Compile a list of standpoints on the issue and also my favorite response.

That's a tricky one. One the one hand, I'd like to see the DRC make more effort at security within their borders, but at the same time I hate to see people suffer. I guess it comes down to more UN funding = more US funding = more money out of my paycheck to protect a place I'll never visit.

Not much can be done to secure things there if there isn't enough soldiers and resources to do it with. It's like demanding someone to make soup without water. They need a lot more help than they're getting.

Why does the West feel so reluctant to provide security in Africa when they seem so willing to do so in places like Iraq and Afghanistan?

Easy. Africa doesn't have any of the largest oil reserves. Of the top five on the list of the world's biggest oil reserves, at least four are middle eastern countries:

1. Saudi Arabia
2. Canada
3. Iran
4. Iraq
5. Kuwait

Control the oil, control the world economy.

So, on to the next story:

Gaddafi is an idiot for issuing a threat on Europe. He's arrogant and that'll be his down fall, just as it was for Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden. The countries that're involved now should give more aid to the Rebels and peaceful citizens than they're actually giving. If you're going to help, don't help just a little bit. Either get in there and start kicking some ass, or mind your own business.

I don't think Europe is in any real danger. As for the rebels, if France is dropping weapons for them I think it will greatly help them. France has been dropping their guns for decades now so they're pretty good at it.
