Casey Anthony acquitted of murder

I came home from work to find that Casey Anthony was found not guilty of murder of her daughter. From watching the court case from what I saw on CNN, I had come to the conclusion that Casey Anthony was Guilty.

My question is: If you were following the case, what news network did you watch (newspapers count as "other" ) and what conclusion did you come to? My vote was CNN/Guilty

Also, feel free to sound off on the case as well.

I haven't followed the case all that closely, but I understand that Ms. Anthony has vowed that she will not rest, and will continue the search for the real killer until he is found.

I'm almost completely sure she was guilty.

I believe that she is guilty but they couldnt prove it. Innocence until proven guilty.

I didn't follow it at all but everyone that I know felt she was guilty. I didn't hear any of the testimony so I can't form an honest opinion.

I think it was a waste of the media's time and I am glad it will be out of the media in a few days. We have much more important things coming up like Presidential Elections *growls at everybody who was carrying the story*

Also makes me think that we need to grant Judges the ability to request that the media not cover a case because the Judge was annoyed and the Defense was annoyed by all the media attention THAT THIS DIDN'T DESERVE

I know many people who watched the entire thing and were astounded at the verdict. I shall say to you what I said to them. Our opinion is irrelevant. The prosecution had to proove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Clearly this is something that they were unable to do.

Therefor she must be given the benefit of that doubt. It is what any one of us would want if we were the accused.

She's probably guilty, but the case against her was pretty weak. The jury isn't allowed to vote guilty if there is any reasonable doubt, and from what I saw of the trial, there was enough doubt to make God start thinking existentially.

I'll be interested to see if a civil suit is next. It's starting to remind me a lot of the OJ debacle.

Someone asked me about this at work today, about why the case deserved so much attention. I was all like "...umm, I ... don't ... know?" xD

I also didn't follow the case, but I watched the story about it on Dateline a while back(or was it 20/20?).
I'm stunned she wasn't found guilty, but there just wasn't enough evidence to convict her.

My mom and I were discussing this yesterday. I've always thought Casey Anthony murdered her daughter. Why? She was just fed up with having to take care of her and probably also fed up with not being able to do what she wanted; Casey was a hardcore party girl. Also, someone had put a heart sticker on the duct tape that had been on the girl's mouth, which I found to be quite odd.
There was a claim that she found the body, freaked and dump it in that river or creek, whatever it was. Seriously, if it's your kid you've just found dead, you're not going to dump the body. That just makes absolutely no sense to me.

My heart breaks knowing that there will be no justice for that little girl.

Agreed, Thanya, there will be no justice for this little girl. I know that we're not aware of all the details of the case, but she seemed guilty to me. I just don't get how you could actually kill your child, or any child!

In this case for sure though I must say that we should be glad they were sequestered, otherwise it deffinately would have changed the result. Oh, and the little girl gets some justice (if it really did happen) 3 years already served in prison add another up to 13 years.

It's so difficult. Definately no justice for the child, but we have to give that reasonable doubt.

Especially when they are applying for the death penalty.

I wish I had seen all of the evidence so that I could say how I would have voted if I was on the jury.

I think in the end it's a win for the justice system. Even though personally I'm pretty sure she did it this case demonstrated that you really do need evidence to convict somebody, no matter what the media says. I think the media coverage of it was in pretty bad taste though, the whole trial was way too much of a spectacle for something that really is a tragedy.

True. The female dog did it, but the prosecution doesn't have the evidence to prove it, therefore she goes free. Too bad, so sad, I'm moving on with my life (not that I'd stopped in the first place).
