Hey there,
Cults out there have some frightening ideas. That, combined with the Mayan calendar prophesy and the fact that so many people seem to be afraid, scares me a lot, sometimes paralyzes me.

So, basic question:
Are you as afraid of the 2012 apocalypse as I am? Why or why not?

December 21st, 2012 will most certainly happen.
Oh, you mean that end of the world thing. Nah, probably not. But there's no reason to fear the end of the world, really. If we're all doomed, why fret about it? Take the good advice of Monty Python and simply Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life. If the world doesn't end, you get to revel in being right, smart, oh-so mentally superior and all that. If you're wrong, you're all dead. There'll be no "I told you so" or any of that.
But yeah, another apocolypse? Bring it on.

Eeyup. There's nothing to be said that hasn't been said already. The apocalypse won't come tomorrow and I've decided if there is a near or absolute apocalypse in my natural life, I'm out of luck.

Afghanistan reports that they're still business as usual.

However, it must be noted that everyone there is a sinner and the country is still a shithole, so they probably wouldn't even be able to tell if the apocalypse had come and gone.

Keep in mind folks, that since this is a Mayan prophecy, this whole thing revolves around the Mayans. The whole shebang won't start until it's December 21st in central America.

In other news, still nothing here in Melbourne at 9:40 pm. Except for the zombie kangaroo attacks...and the ten foot tall, three headed koalas...and most horrifying of all, they ran out of fries at McDonalds. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to deal with all the lava that suddenly started seeping under the door.
