DEMOCRATIA -- Lawmakers in Democratia met today with Alex Brezhkob the Prime Minister of HumanSanity to discuss political party proportioning.
Brezhkob is in favor of the proposal to divide the country into seats by population density rather than political parties, recognizing that parties provide division among the politics and that they must plan for the time after the reign of the Establishment Party.
Member of Parliament #31p of the Establishment Party George Hiknokht proposed the second Amendment to the Democratian Constitution for debate today. The amendment will require a 3/5 majority to pass.
Hiknokht asked the Supreme Court of Law before hand if the new plan could be used in the upcoming election. In a 2-1 opinion it was turned down for use in the coming election on the grounds of simple unfeasibility and the necessity of the 3/5 majority referendum also required to pass.
Bergeron has stated he will allow the bill to pass without objection.
Meanwhile a third Amendment was proposed today allowing non Citizens the same essential rights as real citizens. In the Committee of Constitutional Refinement the bill passed to a full floor vote 5-2. 56 votes will be necessary for passage by the Congress.
The Parliament also today ended the long argument over mandatory voting in a 49-44 vote where the process was approved meaning all voting citizens will be required to vote unless they can prove themselves unable. Bergeron has said he will veto the law stating, "The right to not vote is just as powerful as the right to vote." He is expected to finalize that action tomorrow morning.
