This thread is set in a post apocalyptic America that has been destroyed by a nuclear exchange sometime in the 21st century. Civilization has reverted to small settlements surviving on substance farming. Much of modern technology has been destroyed, however small amounts still exist.
The story is set in what remains of eastern Pennsylvania and western New York.

He is at first reserved when dealing with new people, but as he becomes familiar with someone, he begins to trust and respect them. He is highly intelligent, courageous, determined, passionate, and possesses exceptional strength of character.
He is not without flaws; Marcus believes in fighting raiders and slavers at any cost. He is quick to use violence to solve issues and has a very strong opinion of right and wrong. His desire to fight against raiders and slavers is borderline obsessive and his willingness to take on groups that greatly outnumber him highlights an almost complete lack of self-preservation. He also is highly secretive of his past before becoming a Ranger and is unwilling to form any meaningful relationships even with those he respects. His only substantial relationship is with his companion Ageis.
Abilities: Marcus is a skilled and resourceful warrior who adapts to his environment, owing to his time as a Ranger. He is agile and possesses a great aptitude for stalking and stealth. His skills are best displayed when he is able to pick the location and time of a fight, namely his ability to take out groups of enemies that outnumber and outgun him. Marcus is a skill marksman and a skilled hand-to-hand combatant. He also possess an acute sense of smell and hearing; far greater than an average human but still limited when compared to something like a dog. Marcus is able to speak and read several languages; namely English, Spanish, and Russian. He is also a skilled hunter; both of wild game and humans.
Personal History: Marcus’ personal history before he became a Ranger is unknown; a tightly kept secret that so far Marcus has been unwilling to share with anyone. What is known is that he was discovered wandering the wastes alone when he was just sixteen with nothing more than a broken old rifle and a pack with a few supplies by Lucas Karlson, a veteran Ranger. Lucas took the young Marcus under his wing and taught him to be a Ranger and the two worked together for several years until Lucas was killed in an ambush in which Marcus barely survived. Marcus avenged his mentor’s death by hunting down and killing the men responsible one by one. Since that time Marcus continued as a Ranger, always staying on the move, never staying in a settlement for long.

If he does trust you, or if aiding you would hurt someone he actually dislikes, he helps completely, as if his life's work was whatever the two of you are doing.
Abilities: Adin is a master of the wasteland. He knows the rhythms of the wasteland, how to fit into those rhythms and to find those who don't fit. Adin's special lifestyle has endowed him with an intimate knowledge of the wasteland's flora and fauna. He knows where to look for certain plants that are edible, and the tracks of animals, both prey and predator. Adin tries to hide rather than fight, but he knows how to use a gun or a knife, and he thinks very well on his feat.
Personal History: Adin was born in a village that would be burned by raiders when he was seven. He and others from his town fled the destruction of his town, but were soon caught by slavers. By the time a passing Ranger killed the slavers and freed their slaves, Adin and his town's hunter, Brigadoon, were the only people left. Adin was too young for anyone to take a chance on, and Brigadoon knew how to act like a crippled old man. Brigadoon took Adin out into the wasteland and taught Adin everything he knew. When Adin was fourteen, Brigadoon was killed by a town that blamed him for their missing animals. Angry at both raiders and townsman, Adin abandoned "civilization" and spent the rest of his life trekking throughout the waste, avoiding all other people unless he needed supplies.

Personality and Personal History: Ismael was born and raised in Carbon over 50 summers ago. Both of Ismael’s parents were traders who had decided to settlement Carbon. In his younger years Ismael was a Ranger before returning to Carbon to marry his wife Catherine and served as the town’s Lawkeeper for the last 15 years. Big and imposing yet warm and friendly, Ismael won his position by a unanimous vote of the people of Carbon. Catherine died while giving birth to their first child, as too did his daughter. Ismael understands better than anyone what it takes to survive and thrive in the wasteland. Having never remarried or having any more children, Ismael instead turned his attention to the people of Carbon.

Personality and Personal History: Ismael was born and raised in Carbon over 50 summers ago. Both of Ismael’s parents were traders who had decided to settlement Carbon. In his younger years Ismael was a Ranger before returning to Carbon to marry his wife Catherine and served as the town’s Lawkeeper for the last 15 years. Big and imposing yet warm and friendly, Ismael won his position by a unanimous vote of the people of Carbon. Catherine died while giving birth to their first child, as too did his daughter. Ismael understands better than anyone what it takes to survive and thrive in the wasteland. Having never remarried or having any more children, Ismael instead turned his attention to the people of Carbon.

Clothing: Ismael wears a bulky black and dark blue leather jacket with grey trousers and black knee-high boots. He also wears a pocketed bandoleer wrapped diagonally around the torso. His most recognizable article of clothing his is brown cowboy hat.

Weapons: Ismael normal always carries a battered, but well maintained Colt 1911 in a holster. When out on patrol or if he needs extra firepower he carries an Ak-47.

He likes to boast about how his grandfather helped found the original settlement a few years after the end of the Great Winter. His grandfather reopened the nearby pre-war coal mine and his father used the nearby trade routes to amass wealth, which is used to help secure Carbon. Colin inherited this wealth when his father was killed during a raider attack when Colin was 14. Colin's first move was to build a wall around the town. Since then, the people have looked to Colin as a benefactor despite his organizing of fights, running guns, drugs, prostitution, and gambling in Carbon. Carbon’s town council turns a blind eye to Colin’s activities, despite Ismael’s repeated efforts to stop those activities, because they are acutely aware that the town needs Colin's support and resources.
