For over 200 years, the president and Congress have been in a long heated battle to find out who was more power of the two. I will like to hear people's opinions about this.

Currently, the President. It wasn't always that way, but since WWII the President commands his party-members in Congress. The independent congressman is a thing of the past.
However, the relationship between Congress and the federal Branch is a complicated one. For instance, a degree of collaboration is needed. Congress rarely gets anything past a Presidential veto, and the President can't do anything major without a congressional backing. However, the President has an ace in the hole- the executive order, which basically allows for certain policies to be implemented without Congressional approval.
Thus, it's complicated, but the President is, for now, the most powerful man in government

In the writings of the Constitution they are supposed to balance each other out, along with the SCOTUS but as Paisaje Rico stated, since WW2 the Executive branch has gained more control in an uphill trending status. Though I do see a very bad struggle coming in the next election if the democrats end up taking both houses. Oh first post on here as well. Look me up Reefizonia
