Codenames is a game of guessing in which players split into two teams: red and blue. One player of each team is selected as the team's spymaster; the others are field operatives.
There will be 25 words, with 9 representing green agents, 8 representing blue agents, one (displayed to the spymasters in red) representing an assassin, and the others representing innocent bystanders. Only the spymasters will know which words correspond to which role, and they need to get their team to guess all of their agents using clues.
On each turn, the appropriate spymaster gives a clue about the words on the respective cards. Each clue may only consist of one single word and a number referencing the number of words the hint applies to. The field agents then guess words. Correctly guessing one of their own agents allows them to make another guess, up to a total of the number given plus one. Guessing an opponents agent or innocent bystander ends the turn, and guessing the assassin loses the game.
The spymaster can also give the number zero or say unlimited with their clue, in which case their team can guess as many words as they want until they are wrong or choose to stop. Using zero the implies that your clue doesn't correspond with any word, and unlimited usually means you want your team to guess as much as they can.
Hints given by spymasters cannot contain any words in the grid. The first team to have all their agents guessed wins.
If you are interested in playing, we will need at least 6 players. Please post below, and mention if you'd like to be a field agent or spymaster.
