Convenience stores of all kinds have proliferated in the Islands. They've popped up on all the corners of all the neighborhoods of all the regions of all the Islands. Smoke shops, liquor stores, regular convenience stores, Taco General, Taco Tree, Family Taco, etc. Too many stores offering the same kinds of high-priced merchandise. In addition to that, so owners can cash in on the convenience store craze quickly, they are hastily built and not well constructed.
A minor earthquake rattled the Islands in June. Houses and commercial buildings that were well constructed fared well, but the cheaply built convenience stores did not. Nations owning Convenience Stores that also had purchased the Earthquake Warning System shop item were able to protect their investments. Nations that had no early warning systems in place were forced to pay for repairs so they could keep onprice gouging selling their convenient goods to their customers.
Money not flowing into the stock markets but instead being used to rebuild your friendly neighborhood Taco General and the rest resulted in lower stock prices overall.
