Tides have been more and more of a problem, as rising sea levels have threatened many of the Islands that make up our Region. This brings to mind the story of King Canute, King of England, Denmark, and Norway in the early 1000s, who was known as one of the best kings that those countries ever had. One of his concerns back then was with the tides. He viewed them as a threat to his sovereignty. This story of Canute, or Cnut as it is often spelled, comes to us from Henry of Huntingdon, writing in his Historia Anglorum.
Canute's method didn't work. These days, we do have more effective methods for tide control in the Islands than old King Canute did. We use our tacos to buy the Tide Control shop item.
