A question, if you don't mind: Labour is traditionally allied with the Democrats. So why did Tony side with Bush? And is that hurting him over on your side of the pond? EDIT: The second is a pretty stupid question. I should say "how badly is it hurting him?"
I don't really know why. Perhaps the Prime Minister agreed with him on this issue. Right now, he's probably making sure that he'll be able to get on with either Bush or Kerry.
It probably has hurt him electorally (especially among Muslims), but not its not fatal.
Considering the Tories need a bigger swing than Labour got in 1997 to become the largest party, we can probably say Michael Howard will not be moving into Number 10 any time soon.
