"Who is Skwerrel?" you might be asking. Skwerrel has been the Senator for Lyonesse East since March of 2006. I am proud to serve as a Senator and work to make the 10,000 Islands a better place. I am also a proud member of TITO with 39 battle stars.
I believe that two things will help out region grow. Immigration is the lifeblood of the 10,000 Islands. Also, I believe that we need to continue evaluating our programs on the forum to increase our retention rate.
The fledgling AoN has my full support. I think it was a great idea and I look forward to see the great work that will happen.

Good to see you standing again Skwerrel. Nice to see you agree that IMM is so important. Now that we have a Tag Team grid would you consider putting your name down for a few times slots, so that other nations can chose to recruit with you? Friendship AND region builder, which surely fits the profile you gave; lifeblood.

"I too care about the welfare of the AoN. It has always been my position, one that I ran on, to create a similar body. A similar idea of mine was shot down when I became a senator and I fully supported the creation of the body when this proposal was brought before the Co9." This (which you wrote in Henneth's electoral thread) is interesting to me..I read that other sources had previously proposed something similiar to Co9 as well. The role of Ao9 sec-general and the Co9 is not entirely clear to me. I don't understand how an eventual sec-gen for Ao9 can function when NOT being a member of Ao9...does that mean that the eventual sec-gen simply doesn't vote on Ao9 issues?
Technically I am a member of the Consortium of Role Playing Nations. Right now, that party is working to become more active and recruit. We still have some work to do, but we are progressing.

According to Resolution 2006-003, the Speaker of the Assembly is a Senator that serves as a liaison between the Co9 and the AoN. It would be his job to bring items that have been passed by the AoN to the Co9 and make sure they get a fair debate and a vote there.
Any other powers than that are those that the AoN grant are of the AoN's choosing. There could, theoretically speaking, be a Speaker of the Assembly, who is a senator, that does just as the resolution states and a Secretary General of the AoN that could be a non-senator member of the AoN that has other, yet unenumerated, powers such as calling for votes etc.
I support the option of a separate Speaker of the Assembly (Senator) and Secretary General of the Assembly (AoN member) in order to keep the body running smoothly. The Speaker would not get a vote (maybe just in the case of a tie) but would get a voice. The Sec-Gen of course would get a vote (being a member of the body).
In either case, were I to be elected Speaker of the Assembly, I would do my absolute best to make sure that the AoN was a success.

thank you for your informative response. I've posted in the Assembly charter thread in hopes to attain some clarification on the matter..I'll also look into the roleplaying party to see what it's about.
