Ok, I know the title is a bad rip-off, but I couldnt resist Lol
Anyway, I have been an XKI senator for a while now, so except for a few new people, I believe I would need little introduction. For the slightly newer people who don't know me:
I am Crackenback and have been a member of XKI for well over 2 years, and I have been a Senator now for quite a while. I am currently the Senior Senator and am enjoying my time considerably.
I continue to stay active in the region and, all I ask is that if you believe I have done a good job and you wish me to continue to do so, then all I ask for is your vote.
Thanks for your time, and I look forward to continued service in the region

As a matter of interest, are you an independent candidate or are you backed by a political party. As you can see, i have only been a permenant resident for 2 or 3 months, and so i havent voted in these elections before. I dont have any idea as to what you stand for, (in terms of policies given re election) or how you plan to stop our slow decline in numbers etc. Whilst i'm sure you have been an admirable senator (your re election suggest this) how can i trust you will be truely accountable to my wishes as a voter?

Yes, I am, and always have been, an independant candidate.
As far as policies go, I'm mainly focussed on Immigration and Education and trying to get these departments back to full steam again. Immigration has been steadily slipping and I'd love to see the University program get off the ground again.
As far as "your wishes", a senators responsibility is to bring your suggestions and ideas before the Co9,. You have my word that if there is something to bring before the Council that I will.
If I am successfully re-elected, this will be my fourth time (maybe my fifth). I think that that alone speaks for itself. For if I was doing anything truly wrong, then I dont think I would continue to be re-elected.

Thanks. For this time round, do you have any actual methods you'd use to help get some of these departments back to 'full steam' or would you play it by ear?

You're gooood lol
Hopefully the appointment of Otupia as head of the Immigration department will see the department get a much needed boost. Immigration has been fighting an uphill battle for a while, and I'm not going to try to explain why.
I have joined the immigration department before, but unfortunately between rl and the Senate, i couldnt keep up committment. I believe this is what Immigration has been suffering all along.
I will join the immigration department once again in order to put in that extra effort to help the department. And, I will try to come up with ideas on how immigration can improve, whether there are more effective methods of recruiting or whatever.
Later this month, my two courses I am studying at college will end, and I should have more free time than what I already do. When that happens, I will be re-joining Immigration. And before anyone asks, yes, I do have enough time to serve in the Senate, just not both in the Senate and Immigration
Crackenback, as you might know, I am new here and have only been a permanent member for the past two weeks. I was wondering what the "University program" you referred to was?
Thanks.
It's time to get rid of Real Life politics and to create 10K Island parties.
The University resolution was passed by the senate, and is now under the control of the Dept. of Education.... We (the Dept of Edu.) are still looking for teachers.....

Loosely linked in that they are both to do with education, but thats about as far as it goes The buddy program is for new nations to get oriented into XKI, university is for anyone (kinda) and classes are not necessarily JUST NationStates based

Yes, it was a great idea, and could have great tie ins with the economy. Part time lecturers could exist, earning a wage per lecture, and atttendance. I once ran a lecture in guitar tuition, however it didnt really come to fruition. Not enough interest. It would have to get serious government plugging for success.

The university has yet to find a home... It is in the hands of the Education Dept., and weve had a lesson or two in the great library. First, however, we need people to submit courses... It can be on any subject... (disclaimer: within reason) PM curriculums to Goldenloser....

The University has the potential for a great deal, but there isnt much a senator can do to revitalise it, unless the people themselves submit articles, lectures, and look at others.
