I'm back to once again ask for your vote in the next election. And for those of you new to the class: Islands... Reefs... get it?
I believe my tenure as one of your elected representatives has been enjoyable and fruitful. I remain active and committed to my duties. With your vote I believe we can continue to make 10000 Islands one of the best regions around.
I am always open to suggestions. If you have a concern, or an idea for a new region-wide game, let me know. I'll present them to the Council.
If you believe I've done a good job, please reelect me. I appreciate your vote.

I put this to all the candidates:
The Senate makes regular reports to the public is it not true? Yes, i dont think anyone is denying this, however, in my time here (and bear in mind, i've been in and out of the region for the last year) i cannot recall a single occasion when the results or subject matter of senate deliberations has been actively distributed. There is no -forgive me if this is otherwise- regular regional news in this respect. The forum announcements are never utilised to put out important Senate decisions etc. No RMB messages. These are public documents after all. So why must i seek it out if i am interested?
The Region asks, 'how can i get people involved?' I would say, the passivity with which the senate distributes its reports is inadequate. It is for this reason, that i hadn't a clue what the Senate actually did until recently, when i tried to create a Union to represent the 10KI'er.
The fact that i hadnt any idea could of course be a poor reflection on myself, but the fact is many in the region fail to be enticed by what is obviously a brilliant forum life. Thus, rather long windedly i arrive at my point and question. If you were to be elected senator again, would you do anything to increase activity and basic comprehension as to what you do?

There are plenty of announcements on the RMB and the forums regarding certain things the Council does. The recent treasure hunt and the new economic system are just two examples of our announcement and RMB usage.
We periodically use the forums and RMB to ask for volunteers for our various things. Just recently, Grub made the announcement asking for a volunteer for Immigration Minister. It was filled pretty quickly. Also, you should look at the senate office section. Every month we make a report of items we discussed. Our senior senator, Crackenback, is currently responsible for this.
You cannot make anyone else enjoy the forums any more than they're willing to enjoy. I, at first, was a bit slow to warming to the forums. After a while I got into it more (not as much as GPN obviously!). As a buddy, I let my buddy know he can ask me *almost* anything about XKI. I'm there to let him know where things are and how to get involved. However, one can just piddle around the forums to learn where everything is. That's how people learn and discover - look and read at their own pace. I can help someone find something, but I can't make them continue to use it (or the cliche, you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink).
I hope this adequately answers your question.

You answer my question, but i feel indirectly. I believe that all the announcements are questions put to the public need a more obvious senate stamp of aproval or involvment. This would demonstrate to people the extent to which you work, and you wouldnt get people questioning what it is you actually do. The fact we put up a candidate for the election shows we believe the senators hold important positions. Get the good word out there.

I believe that Estayland will make a strong senator. As to the question asked about increased activity, etc., the Senate Office section of the forum, where monthly senate reports are posted. That section can also be used to bring up points and questions to the senate, or even propose an idea and the senators choose to respond quickly.
I hope this helps some and possibly finishes up the answer to your question.
It's time to get rid of Real Life politics and to create 10K Island parties.
As has been said many times before, the senate does not battle between each other. We all contribute our thoughts and ideas to come to a solution. Estayland and Crackenback have been excellent senators, and fellow xki-ers, and i have no doubt that they will continue to be so. The purpose of a senate report is to give everyone an idea of what happens in the council. I believe it is very thorough. If you have any questions, or want to elaborate/contribute, thats what the senate offices are for....
