The way the Delegate operates here is that he or she (don't forget Lynosse) conducts a poll to see how the region feels on a resolution or proposal and works on that.

In my experience, when there is a tie go with the most logical arguments one way or the other.

It's a fair question to ask what positions I take.

Mostly I think the UN is not the most interesting or important thing about NS. I am often not impressed with the UN resolutions we get -- many seem to me pretty utopian or silly. I am very much a nations-rights person: UN interference in our nations is at best obnoxious.

My own approach is pretty conservative (=19th century classical Liberal/Whig), pro-individual rights, market economy and free trade. But I am more interested in building up our own region, so I will virtually always vote with the majority expression in the polls.

The exception would be something that would be contrary to what I understand to be the clear interests of the 10000 Islands as a region. (The Union forever!) I haven't seen any UN resolution yet that met that criterion, but I guess that's conceivable.
