Josef Maxim of Nulibert has announced his bid for senate. "We have not begun to prosper", he said in an earlier press conferance, "With this new constitution, we will need strong senators to represent the nations. I hope the voters will see through all the smoke and mirrors and elect me."
The campaign to elect Josef Maxim of Nulibert to the senate has released two new audio ads. The ads are now playing on the NIRN (Nulibert Island Radio Network).
Thank you to those who have supported me in my bid for senate. For those who haven't...
I will introduce the three main points of my campaign:
-The senate is there to represent the people. I can not...no, I will not make decisions without consulting the people of the 10,000 Islands.
-Unlike some of my competitors, I belong to TITO and the 10,000 Islands. I have belonged to both for a fairly long amount of time. I have supported both groups financially and militarily. Take this into consideration when voting.
-It is time to bring the 10,000 islands into the interregional pool. There are many situations in other regions that may need our attention in the future. We can no longer isolate ourselves. We need to take a leading role in the interregional community by standing up for freedom.
Josef Maxim of Nulibert has made a speech over the radio. Unfortunately, due to a terrible storm that passed over, only one feed from the broadcasting station worked and it's of low quality. His voice seems warped and out of pitch at times. Nevertheless, here is the speech as broadcast on the NIRN:
Our policy of isolationism, or "involvement without commitment" is not helping anyone. With this policy, we assume four things:
-We are unique with no interests threatened -We are superior to a corrupt world -We are impregnable to attack -The "devil" theory of war
We also participate in "keyhole democracy". The United States (in real life) did this and they woke up from their fantasy world to find the World at War for a second time. We can't be sleeping on the job.

I'm not sure what you're going for, but the 10000 Islands operates pretty well the way it is right now. With the analogy to the earlier American foreign policy, all I can say is this isn't real life and that analogy doesn't ring true for NationStates. I have been around this game for a while, so I know from experience. There are different factors that change the whole equation.
Also, the 10000 Islands is not cut off from the rest of the NationStates world and our force has been and will continue to be felt when others attack foreign regions unfairly.
I understand that, but I feel that in some cases preemptive operations would work better. Before region crashing occurs, we should take action to prevent it rather than just wait for it to happen.
I have noticed in the past days that many people have thrown their hat into the race for senate. Some are highly qualified, some are brand new nations. Some are decorated members of TITO, some are not even in TITO. Some are strong liberals, while others are powerful conservatives. It should be a great race, and I wish all the best of luck.
I have chosen to put my support towards who I feel is the most qualified, experienced and best of judgement:
New Boniventure - a nice person, experienced with the 10,000 Islands and TITO and very supportive. Great with words. Very active. He would make a great senator. TheSensitiveNewAge - experience and credentials, and a nice person overall. He knows his way around. Very active. Would make a strong senator.
Panthenia - another experienced nation, an ambassador too, and active. A very worthy senator.
Nulibert - experienced, very active, a great speaker and a dedicated member of the 10,000 Islands and TITO. A very worthy senator.
Although I cannot vote for you, I can try my best to inform you. If you have any questions about these candidates' campaigns, telegram them and I'm sure they'd be happy to answer you. I fully support them, and I feel that we are the four that are the best choices for senators.
Thank you, and good luck to all. God bless our islands.
