If Alfonia has another sports league in the future, I'd be interested in buying a franchise and hiring a nation to run it for me. Who won last season's league?

Hmm fill me in on how this works.

Last seasons league wasn't so much about coaching as the new system will be (oops did i accidentally say there will be a more advanced league coming up there? i did didn't I... oops)

The last league kind of died, mostly due to my inactivity for a while and a general lack of interest.

There will be a beta test of the new system eventually, a mini tournament with 4 teams in it. But that's all info i have for now.

Some things that will be included in the new system:

1) More room for tactics
2) Players are individually ranked instead of just the team being ranked as a whole.
3) There will be tacos to win

Some things that may be included at some point:

1) stadium upgrades
2) trading of players for tacos between managers
3) players that develop special skills with time

This new thing is pretty much still on the drawing table, so that's all the info I may give you for now.

I guess i can reveal one more thing, although the stuff i say now may change before the league really is started...

Players will be ranked individually, and have a skill of 1 to 6 in the following skills:

Shooting
Accuracy
Passing
"Mind power"
Defending
Goalkeeping

Depending on how much they have in each, it's up to you to decide where on the pitch you want to place them, as goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, or striker. You may also use whichever formation you like, as long as there are 11 players on the pitch.

Some programming has to be done etc. but it's all going along pretty nicely.

Upon starting a team you will recieve 14 normal players and 1 star player. The normal players will have totally randomized skills (although there will be max 3 with goalkeeping skill in each team). The star player will have randomized skills with some additional points.

So there you go, some info regarding the new league;)

I'm not sure how your sports league used to run Alfonia, but you could have a number of criteria which could be improved (like passing ability, fitness average, etc) which gives you a statistical chance of winning. You could play other teams, and improve your team in the competitions. Would that work?

It would be pretty much like that yes, although during the test run the game will be a lot simpler.

Hey, my team the Ninja-Monkeys, could also use a manager. Being a yankee with normally little interest in any sports, puts me in a trickery situation.

The Ninja-Monkeys are a well established 7.5 on a scale from 1-10. They've come close to winning the cup once. I have the funds to back them up since I am the third richest nation in the 10KI in liquid assests.

Wage would be negoiated once a reference is founded. There would be a base pay with bonuses for getting to the playoffs, being one of two teams going for the cup, and another bonus for wiining the cup.

Sounds good. I'll create a new team with a terrible name and some cheap players with which to work my way up the league and into the first division! Then i will sell my team, and buy out TSNA's Ninja monkeys, before selling all my shares in the 10KI Sporting Arena stock market and become a rich millionaire, living off the interest of my vast wealth. The penultimate bit of my ramblings there could actually happen, but the last bit is fiction. No interest rates on savings im afraid.
