I dont think its going to be any of the names listed above. Most likely it will be someone that know one is talking about, or ever heard of. Perhaps one of the 3000 bishops?
Everybody has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film.
I heard many years ago (of couse, this is hearsay) that the next pope could be from Africa. I've also read recently that there are only 2 popes left. www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2005/4/3/180901.shtml

Two Popes left? Ahh, those ancient prophesies. It should come from the Olivetian order then? I don't think any of the top runners is from that order. But would the Cardinals just pick one of them, just to fulfill that stuff?
Ratzinger? Too dogmatic, Arinze, too young a Church. Hummes, interesting, a bit too old, but if I were to make an outside pick, and someone who I'd like to see in the Papacy? Schoeborn from Vienna, brilliant, neo-con, expert in Cathechism, zionist, and has the look.
I'd like Madriagana (sp?), fluent, telegenic, pilot. The next Pope needs to be good on TV and the media, he has to have a look. A brilliant administrator? Bah, that is what the Roman Curia is for, the Pope needs to be a huge symbolic representative of the future Church.

Hi,
I just heard a rumor that a dark horse compromise candidate from Portugal is now in the running for pope, and my pick the Brazilian cardinal is also tipped as HOT for Pope.

BTW, does anyone know how this selection process works? Like the criteria and what not? Just curious.
I have a few friends who are either Catholic or used to be Catholic and they do have the cool confessional booth thingies... btw, can anyone go in there and make a confession or is it only supposed to be for Catholics?
