With respect to the real world, the UN is a joke already. Taking away what little, albeit insignificant, threat they possess will just make them not only barely useful, but entirely ineffective altogether. The UN "military" can only shoot at the ground or the air, they're not even permitted to act in self defense. The UN is built upon threat of force, even if they can't implement it, and downright prohibiting the possibility of force will destroy the organization entirely.
"We're going to get very angry with you, and write you a letter telling you how angry we are! That'll learn ya."

That's what I was thinking. If anything, it should be expanded and given more power. If you're going to do this, you might as well dissolve the UN altogether.

This is unrelated but the UN needs to pick better Sec-Gens. A string of dove-like, administrative minded diplomats and ultimately ineffective picks from J.Perez to B.Ghali to Kofi Annan has plunged the UN military from a respected force to be reckoned with, to a purely symbolic, "peace-keeping" (because they don't do anything) group of boy-scouts.
