Moved this thread to the 10000 Islands (general) forum from the University since it is not a reference topic. By all means everyone should feel free to inquire about the subject--it is important.
Only non-UN nations are disqualified from running for the Senate, since most are puppets of other UN nations. It protects the rule of one-person-one-vote.
How would 10000 Islands make it easier to run for the Senate?

Well really I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to do so... I mean more experienced nations are likely to get more votes anyway. The one month-rule is fine.

Yeah, I agree with Alf on this one. I'm totally in favour of (fairly) new nations running for senate, but it's not very likely for them to win. If no-one has ever heard of them, they must have a very convincing, intensive campaign or very strong, new ideas to win it, b/c they haven't won the confidence of the voters yet.
Worship the potato? The idea seemed silly to me. But then I thought, what else is more deserving of worship? It's simple, it comes from the earth, and it can kill you if you disobey it.

I can see both sides of the argument on this issue.
A problem with letting brand new nations run for Senate, though, is that they have not had enough time to really experience the Islands and see what they would like to change or improve.
I would agree about the one-month rule placed on new nations, but new nations are still struggling to become noticed in elections. One of the obstructions are endorsements made by senior members. Most candidates endorsed have gone through successfully. There are also a number of candidates that have more than one post. And speaking more politically, the region is dominated by conservatives in my opinion, although most nations do not claim they side with any political belief.
What really is experience, it is such a flexable word. just because they may be a new nation does that make them inexperienced? if yes then a real politician could start nation states for the first time and he would be deemed inexperienced. Just ask all the right questions.
