I know this is totally selfish of me but I am so confused. 2 weeks ago I got offered this awesome new job close to my house literally 5 minutes away, close to my kids, better pay, better health benefits. I immediately put in my two week notice at my old job which I was completely tired of and wanted out.
So tomorrow is my last day at my old job. I had an exit interview with the president of the company today in which he counter offered me a new position within our company with a better salary but I'd be at a lower grade level with room for improvement. I was flattered and completely shocked that they would counter offer on the 11th hour.
I love my old company, I have made my best friends there (I've been there for 5 1/2 years) but this past year has been really stressful on me for the hours and horrible new boss that was hired in April. I wouldn't be working for him anymore but still...
This new job offers me training, there is a budget for continuing education, much better hours, the new boss seems awesome, better atmosphere....
So any thoughts opinions? Should I stay with what I know? Or venture into the Unknown?
And I apologize if I've just told you way more than you ever wanted to know about your Minister of Education.

If you stay at your old company you have to ask yourself how long will it be before you're in the same situation of happiness again. I say take a chance and go for the new job
"A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more. Nobody is going to win a 5,000 meter race after running an easy 2 miles. Not with me. If I lose forcing the pace all the way, well, at least I can live with myself."

It's hard to give advice about this, without a first hand or detailed feel for the situation. Jumping off into the unknown or relatively unknown, in either situation has its good and bad points.
I have a feeling that if you took a deep breath and asked yourself to make a decision in ten seconds that you already know which way you want to go.

I'm going to go for it! I thought about it all night everyone here is right, the time I'll be adding onto my day to spend with my kids is 3 hours and that alone I think makes the decision easy!
Thank you for all your input and wish me luck!! ;D
