Platform
1 Retaining the current rules on UN membership for citizenship. The possibility of voting abuses otherwise is to great.
2 Have the 3 minister voted in by the citizens.
3 Expand the Senate and create a Prime Minister, leader of the party with the most votes.
4 Make Founder the monarch who maintains democracy making him chief of state without veto powers.

2.Mandatory Voting.- Ummmmm, this is absolutely impossible to enforce. Besides, then the citizens could vote to repeal this law......
3.All citizens may join TITO after the approval of Co9.- As i said before, takes too much time, not selective enough, and it just aint gunna happen.....
4.All citizens can run for senate.<--- already a law....
5.Reconstruct the Co9
-make the founder the monarch who maintains democracy making him chief of state without veto powers
-expand the senate
-create a prime minister, leader of the party with the most votes

the first part aint gunna happen... i thought about the second 2 myself a while back, but people need to sleep on it....
-3 ministers appointed by Prime Minister

Aswell, why do you insist on criticizing everyting I have to say, your my sponsorship buddy Glu, you should be encouraging this like you did before. Do you not remember that you were the one who told me to explore these parties.
Think deeply about a reconstructed Co9, it would work much better if people started taking these political parties more seriously.

I have read the statuates and Statuate 2004:001 says and I quote "You must have been in the region for a month according to the register date on the boards." From what I see you have been here for less than a month and therefore cannot run till next month.

At...what point did anyone disagree with that statement? Number 4 IS already a law. All citizens may run. The keyword is citizens. You have to have lived here a certain amount of time. You're not barred from running. You are merely required to prove you're going to stick around, and give people a chance to get used to your politics. You're looking to fix problems that don't exist. Finally, if you can't take serious criticism, then don't go into regional politics. You are going to get the crap criticized out of you. I agree with a large part of what you're saying, but the fact is, the reforms you suggest aren't neccessary. They simply create what you and I feel would be ideal. You don't need ideal. You need good enough. Once it's good enough, you focus on other things.

I agree, but when you have reached good enough, and everything else is at the same level, I think it could be time for improvement. I seriously think a reconstructed Co9 would work great.

Not everything else is at the same level. We have bigger concerns. We need to fix immigration before we begin talking about reform. furthermore, reconstruction just is not necessary. It aint broke, it's acceptable to everyone (apparently, except you) so don't fix it. The fix you suggest I think would be good, but extreme, and you apparently consider it ideal. I personally, would like to make it possible to have Grub's veto overruled, yet have him retain veto power. But many people are opposed to it. Again, it works, it's acceptable to everyone, don't try to make it what you think is ideal when most people disagree

listen up, that s*cks. pardon me but it does. So just because a party hasn't got the majority's support it should stop fighting for what it believes in?

Let the elections show if anyone agrees with the NSDP, and oh, until that day comes, don't just claim that your opinion is "everyone's" opinion.

I see it as one of the most important things in democracy to fight for what you believe in, even if many people disagree. If you don't, Sheynat, I think you should consider your values before Mankind the Mutilator does.

Pardon me if I seem a bit extremist, but this party reminds me way too much of the first Liberal Party I joined when I came here, which accomplished nothing but ticking people off, because it continued to try to push its ideas through this level of resistance. I simply want to avoid a repeat. And Alfonia, apparently, you misunderstood me quite seriously. Fighting for change is all well and good in reality, but this is a game. People don't seem to get that. What you're doing IRL is you're fighting for your ideals. Here when you continue to push a platform despite a lot of stiff resistance, you're trying to change the rules. You are right about the voting thing, though, Alf. I was going by the posts in the thread, which have been mostly negative. I should be going by votes. Maybe I haven't considered Mankind's lack of experience, but when you've gotten this level of opposition, even if it is just posting in threads, you might as well give up. Part of my tirades in this thread is basically people take the game too seriously, standing up for what they believe is right. In real life, that's admirable. In a game, you're just being annoying. Anyway. It might be wise to back off from this thread or take it to PMs. Tempers are starting to flare.
