From observing the current alliance and experimenting with 2 other nations I control, I believe we should do away with the rule of requiring all 10KI NS2 nations to prioritize trade with each other.
It seems to me that:
- Every nation produces a certain type of goods, and this handful of goods don't change very quickly. (Mine has only added 'boxer shorts' since it was created nearly a month ago)
- Say if you produce wheat farming, fishing, and banana farming, you will have an abundance of food related products, and some of those you can sell.
- If I had 'Materials', 'Antibiotics' and 'Arms', I can sell those to you and buy from you the stuff I need.
As such, having nations that produce the same genre of goods, prioritize or favor trade partnerships don't make sense. Under the present arrangement (compulsory favored trade statuses with everyone), I find my nation constatnly lacking several types of goods. The trade arrangement may or may not have a detrimental effect, I don't know, but I know it doesn't help meet my daily needs.
I think makes much more sense to have nations that produce different types of goods to prioritize trade with each other. I'm going to test this hypothesis by forming trade agreements with nations that I require goods and services with.
Within 10KI, I'm keeping my favor partnership with Titanica because he has goods I needed (Medicine and Food) but removing trade partnerships with Carrotopia and Mukeli because they produce the same goods as I do.
If you have observations and insights please share.
