I say just to leave 'em be. The more they kill each other, the less we'll have to deal with when the UN decides we should intervene.
These cultures have been warring for centuries, there isn't much anyone can do to stop it. It's the way of the world, the way it'll always be. Nuking the entire middle east would just open up a can of shitstorm on the US, nothing more. All the violence in the desert would be shifted to our doorstep, rather than halfway across the world.

There will always be a war there. As long as there are radicals, there will be war. We just need to stand behind Israel.

A better alternative would be to provoke Pakistan to nuke the middle east. That way you still get a perfectly good nuke'n AND you'll have a good political reason to invade Pakistan so you can shoot all them terrorists.

Don't you just get sick of all the recent events in the Middle East?
I swear the only solution to this perennial problem is the sterilize the entire region with nukes. ;D
You don't have to wait very long. The next 20 to 30 years will be crucial. If they cannot find a peaceful solution by then, I'm ready to bet the Middle East will be nuked.
Right now Israel is the only nation with nuclear capability (via U.S.). But as time progresses Iran, and very soon terrorist regimes from Hamas to Hezbollah will have nuclear weapons. These regimes will have no hesitation to use nuclear weapons against Israel when they have the chance.

At least they keep the cable news networks from getting boring. ;D
Oh, I forgot. It's a good testing ground for all the toys Israel has developed over the years. They are still effective. Remember the Spanish Civil War?
The UN is at an impasse. ;D They can't really ask for Israel to stop. It's a sovereign State. Israel used the "Self-Defence" card well.
I remember in Civilization 2 that wars started by the player is sometimes described as "Peacekeeping Action." ;D

The entire world would nuke that area, not just the US. A multilateral sterilization effort is much better. ;D
Just like Africa, a direct result of world superpowers carving up a piece of land into countries paying no attention to ethnic groups. Which is why all of this garbage happens, it's always ethnic groups fighting because we messed up a while ago.

Such is history, I guess. On the surface, it seems easy to fix what seem like problems solved by co-operation, yet when one digs deeper... this hate is so fundamental, although it's normally only fundamental between the "men in suits" AKA the leaders, that I find it hard to fathom.
it deeply saddens me to see people they they would honestly consider nuking entire civilasations from existance.
just think for a moment about our own pasts. in europe we had 2 world wars devestate mosrt of the western half. we had the dark ages, we had the holocaust, we had colonial land grab wars, we had wars over who had the biggest dick in europe (aka sweeden, prussia, french (and others) war), the 100 years war, numerous civil wars, the list goes on...
the US is relatively young so not as much has gne on there, and it was founded by developed nations anyway, but even so, there was slavery and the civil war.
so please, take a minute to think, were we so different? do we have the right to arbitarily exterminate whole peoples?
just because thoe in the middleeast or africa havent developed at the speed at which we have, doesnt mean they wont in time, and it doenst mean they have to develope the same way we did, the world wouldbe a boring place indeed if the only culture was western anglo-european
