WORLD ASSEMBLY GAZETTE
Issue 1: January 11th, 2009
Thank you for picking up a copy of the first issue of the World Assembly Gazette (WAG)! We aim to bring you all the latest news on the World Assembly. Whether you are an avid WA legislator or just want to know the best times to join or quit the WA, we have the information you need.
REPEAL OF FREEDOM OF MARRIAGE ACT PROPOSED
A repeal of the "Freedom of Marriage Act" (WA resolution #15) has been written and submitted to the proposal cue. The repeal cites ambiguity in WA resolution #15, claiming that the term "minorities" could include "sexual predators, pedophiles, and criminals," and that the resolution contains "contains many undefined terms and inconsistencies."
The proposal, written by RMV, is 39 Delegate votes short of being put to a WA vote. Delegate voting ends tonight and it is unlikely that this proposal will reach a WA vote.

The Freedom of Marriage Act can be seen at: www.nationstates.net/46124/page=WA_past_resolutions/start=14
ANTI-DISCRIMINATION RESOLUTION NEARING COMPLETION
An Anti-Discrimination Resolution has reached the final stages of its drafting, claims the author, the Urgench delegation. The resolution mandates "ll inhabitants of member states are equal in status in law and under its actions, and have the right to equal treatment and protection," and "nprovoked violence against or intimidation of any person . . . shall be a civil cause and criminal offense in all member states," among other articles.
The resolution, which was first posted for debate and rewriting in September, should become a proposal very soon. "We are hoping to submit it for approval in the very near future," states Khan Mongkha of the Urgenchi delegation.
