The Mortimer Report is the official quarterly economic report of the 10000 Islands. This report has been complied by our old time economist who lives in the isles and is only known by the name Mortimer.
April 2009 - Businesses struggled in the early part of this past quarter, but started to bounce back by the end. Overall, what looked like a disastrous report was negated by the end of the quarter improvements meaning most areas remained steady.
Capitals:
With a capital comes national respect both internally and externally. For nations with capitals, no effect has been felt this quarter.
Farming:
The weather in the 10000 Islands was consistent this quarter and crops were good, but the demand for food was less with nations nations. All farms had no profit or loss this quarter.
Mining:
Some new mineral deposits were found this quarter, but again, demand was lower overall. This meant that the overall the mining sector saw a no net profit or loss.
Shipping:
Shipping took a major loss in the first part of this quarter and traders felt an implosion of the shipping trade was right around the corner. With the influx of new nations in the latter half of the quarter, shipping was at full capacity and is thriving. Unfortunately, because of the poor start, the was no profit or loss this quarter in shipping.
Factories:
Factories are currently the hardest and most costly to build on the 10000 Islands map. Overall production remained at high levels with little factory problems or strikes. Each factory made 5,000 .
