Postcards from the Empire of Power

This should be a thread where people talk about what their people have seen as they entered the 10000 Islands newly annexed region of the Empire of Power.

As my team entered the region, there was desolation all around. Buildings were bombed out, trash blew down the empty streets, invader graffiti could still be seen on the walls and every once in a while a chicken would be seen picking at the ground.

One of the first two places I went to was the command center and then the throne room for the EoP. In the command center, fires had destroyed much, but there was still a tattered map of the 10000 Islands on the wall as well as a map of the continent of Asia. I am not sure about this, but I think the 10000 Islands attack may have been the Empire of Power's first loss.

From there I went into the throne room of Mattattonn. It was in the throne room where their leader used to consult with some of their top regional officials. In that room I saw a cast that looked like it was used to heal a broken bone. There were also maps of West Virginia, Kentucy and a bottle of Mustard scattered on the ground. This room must have been quite the sight in the past. A Grub team will focus restoring this room as soon as possible.

I'll have the top historians from our region also grab what they can before the cleaning teams make their way around the region.

Reports from my infidels have been ... graphic to say the least ... what was there was unsalvagable but if we plant crops of opium and other things that have proved to improve the economy i think that the area will be bustling with life again in no time ... just in time for us to exploit their cheap labour

When Henneth Annuns TITO units reported, we found stockpiles of Scud missles and other large medium range wapons. They have been disused for at least 10 years! They will be ferried back to Grub for further investigation.

Oct 29th, 2004 -
Our regiment was sent out to investigate on going fires in the north western oil fields of the vast emprical plain. The devastion here is immense. Vast billowing plumes of oily black smoke fill the sky above us, even now as I write this I am forced to wear a water-soaked hankerchief over my mouth despite being within the confines a NDA personel carrier.

Oct 30th, 2004 -
News around camp is the fires have been deliberately lit. Apparently the sick, twisted minds that once ruled these lands though it best to put them to torch rather than deign to have them fall into the hands of TITO. It doesn't look good. The inferno is keeping at bay any attempts to cut off the oil fueling the blaze, command has called in for the emergency services to take a look at it but I'm still scratching my head on just how they plan to control such a firestorm.

Nov 6th, 2004 -
It's been a week now and still no real let up from the fire. I'm dead tired as are many people are around here. We've got trucks pumping kilolitres of water, but we haven't even gotten close to any of the burning valves yet. Command reckons that the worse is over and all we have left is the pumps themselves but I'm not convinced. Besides what with all the smoke how can you really tell?

Nov 9th, 2004 -
We extinguished our first pump today. It was hard work but we were able to douse it with enough water for one of our engineers in full fire gear to march in and switch off the valve using a heavy blanket. He suffered a few third degree burns. But at least we know it can be done now, I look forward to the day when it is the last valve we close and not the first. O to breath fresh air again.

The group arrives and starts there search. They go through piles of rubble. Finding old gun caches and ammo stores.

November 8, 2004

Today the divition found what looked to be a city. It looked like it was burned, bombed and a total loss. The men took turns looking around.

The few scouts Yupanqui had sent in after the annexation of the EoP were shocked. This once-powerful region everyone held with a cross of fear and terrified awe in the days of old was merely a shell of the former "glory" it claimed. Instead of the fires raging in the cities, they saw a dusty, trash-filled land. Weapons were scattered along the streets. Graffiti proclaimed that "Mattatton was here" and "to grief is to laugh". Skeletons of all races were lying in the factories used a long time ago to produce weapons to destroy innocent regions. All the scouts could say is that they are glad this empire is no more. They deserve no better than this.
