Hurricane Alphonso threatens the 10,000 Islands

Tropical Storm Alphonso has been upgraded to Hurricane Alphonso by the RWS. While these storms are rare in the 10,000 Islands, they are not unheard of. The ETA of the storm is 2 days approaching the Islands from the west heading to the north east. We predict that it will hit the Islands as a Category 3 hurricane, with storm surges up to 10 feet.

A advise all governments to prepare.

Lythian has already begun to prepare for this storm, as the populace is urged to move inland, away from the coast. Within the day, the government is expected to issue an order to evacuate to the inland area, into special hurricane shelters. More news later.

The hurricane is expected to hit the western coast of Asgarnieu within 36 hours. Bahamamamma has announced a massive hurricane party to take place beginning approximately 3 hours before the storm hits. We have quadrupled our emergency supplies of rum and canned pinapple. We have also stockpiled batteries for any necessary small appliances.

due probably to Goddess Belldandy's protection, the hurricane completely by-passed the anime islands, doing nothing more than increasing electrical supply to the islands' massive wind turbines.

Most of the cities in Skwerrel were spared major damage, thanks mostly to the protection of the Great Wall of Skwerrel. Minor damage was reported on the ISO Skwerrel Campus. Repairs are underway. The Island Club also suffered some damage but is scheduled to be reopened soon.
