I've been noticing a strange trend (I think) of people living from paycheck to paycheck. Do any of you live from paycheck to paycheck?
"A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more. Nobody is going to win a 5,000 meter race after running an easy 2 miles. Not with me. If I lose forcing the pace all the way, well, at least I can live with myself."

It depends on what you mean by that... If you mean, can you last one month if you go out of work immediately? The answer is yes. But I can't last more than 6 months...

I don't personally, but when you leave the country and don't any more than a hundred bucks in a whole eight month period, your paychecks start to stack up.
There's nothing wrong with the lifestyle, though. Money doesn't mean anything. Good luck with retirement, though.
I guess I mean if you lost your job today would you be able to survive the next month (when bills are due and fun stuff like that)

Well I'm a student and my dad works for Allen & Overy so I could probably survive a while lol.

Living paycheck to paycheck generally means that you have no money left over after needs (bills, gas, groceries). My in-laws live paycheck to paycheck. The one good thing about it, though is that you quickly learn what you really need. Now, if I could just explain to the concept of needs vs. wants to them. -sigh-

First of all, I have to say that I am not responsible for myself yet in financial terms of making ends meet, since I'm a student in his last year of grammar school who lives in a suburban house with his parents, a brother and a grandmother.
My father is an official for the State of Hesse, a tax inspector, to be precise. That adds a lot of safety in times of economic crises and instability. The payments for similar work on the free market would be higher, but officials of the federal German states can't get fired (unless they commit a crime) and they and their families have automatical access to private healthcare. This really helps a not to have to live from paycheck to paycheck, however there is not much money to live a somewhat luxurious or extremely comfortable life, but that's not important to me anyway.

Personally I don't understand the concept of needs vs. wants to me they're all essentials of life.
And Personally I don't live Paycheck to Paycheck cause I'm 14 and my parents still pay for everything, and no my parents don't live paycheck to paycheck either.
And I feel sorry to every who's businesses aren't doing well, ours are still doing quite well though not quite as well as before.(My parents own investment companies, and invest in small business especially dry cleaners and laundromats)
Though it is kinda hard to live paycheck to paycheck with my parents earnings in a vareity of different things.
