The land of Ginvidia, or to some, the Nation of the Winds, once hosted one of the world's oldest and some argue most technological advanced civilizations the world has known.
It's ancient ancestor's managed great advances with wind technology. Texts from around the time state that the island itself flew in the skies, though many historians agree that these were tales written for entertainment purposes about the nation after the island had disappeared.
What is agreed upon is that a mass exodus of the old civilization did occur shortly before the island disappeared. It contained member's of the nation's noble families. Records from the time state that they were fleeing from a plaque that had killed the majority of the nation's citizens. Expeditions that were sent in reported that the island as a whole had completely disappeared, perhaps for all of time.
Recently a large quake sifted the land's of this world, revealing the lost nation of Ginvidia. Descendents of it's nobles flocked from all over to repopulate the island.
The people were surprised to find that a section of the island had cracked off and drifted several miles away. Their first act was to label this land as a sanctuary for Ginvidia's native Duntada population. Their second was to set about restoring the ruin's of their nations.
The core of the nation's people is a nomadic one. They take pride in residing in the nation's ruins, restoring them to their once former glory, before moving on to the next city of ruins. Few people stay behind in each city in order to run stores and help new people migrating into the nation settle in.
There is no flag for Ginvidia. The nation is symbolized by obelisks made of dark stone that have roughly cut out rectangles of silver ore imbedded in a single side. It's animal is the Duntada, who faces much controversy at the moment, centering around individuals who claim that they are sentient creatures who deserve equal rights, although DNA results have confirmed otherwise.
The people enjoy clothing styles and entertainments that were available to their ancestors. The most expensive robes are made exclusively from the chin hairs of the Duntada. People enjoy simple arts and crafts activities such as painting and pottery.
Overall the nation of Ginvidia is a nation struggling to find their past. They are a peaceful and nature loving people. They prefer to keep an quiet voice while participating in world activities. And Duntadas are not people.
