My Writing -Part 1! Comment please!-

That's right I write, what you don't believe me..well fine.

Anyways, I do write I write a lot actually. So I just thought I'd share all of my writings, they're novels as I find poetry and short stories to be too dull to write.

My first work, which I'll update when I start writing it is about a Civil War in a fictitious country. It's seen from the perspective of multiple characters at multiple locations, some fight for the Republic and some fight for the Federation.

But I need your help, I want you to name the country! Its crucial, other wise you wont' get to read the story and I won't get to write it. ;_;

So comment, and I hope you'll enjoy it!

Hmmm. How about Ishkebar, if it's Middle Eastern, or Kazinia, if it's Eastern European, or Austerlich, if it's somewhere near Germany. San Gerom, an island in the Caribbean.

Hmm, I do like San Gerome. Too clarify, the country is in a fictitious world. But it's a mishmash of Eastern Europe and Germany as far as geography. I like San Gerome so I'm going to use that, thank you x2000 Woonsocket. I'm going to be donating you a few tacos as a thanks.

No need for tacos, eccastan, but thanks. Say, what you could do is work the name of Woonsocket (its a northern US city) into your story. That would be cool!

Woonsocket, and FreeGunsForAll.. I'd be delighted to work it in.. Woonsocket I'm probably thinking of your name being better suited as a small town. FreeGunsForAll, you'll probably end up using your name as a background organization that supplies to weapons.

Final detail before, I post the part at 11 A.M. Mountain Time (So 3 hours after this is posted)

The setting is semi futuristic, there's weapons/technology equivalent to the time period of the first half of the 20th century. But in this world, the date is 1867 so the 20th century technology is still fairly new.

So for the most part they'll use guns and things from the later half of the 19th century, but the 20th century technology still exists and is used.

That's all I can say without spoiling central plot points.

Okay, I know I said 11. But gosh, I can't help myself. Enjoy the first half of the first chapter.. We see the perspective of Ryan and Thom..

Chapter I

The sun shone into the cracked window of a small room, Thom was sleeping when the sun rays hit his face and woke him up. Grumbling before getting up, he looked at his room. It was a mess, there was food and clothes scattered about. His desk was cracked, dusty, and had a mess of papers. But the worse feature of all was that his bed was nothing more then a mattress with springs sticking out. It was stained and had the strangest smell.

Everyday he was greeted with this site, and he still couldn’t do anything about it. He was stuck with it slowly he walked down the stairs. As he turned into the old kitchen he noticed that no one else was up. Looking on the table he found a note, it was an eviction notice. He cursed under his breath, was it already the 5th of June? Before he could react, a knock came at the door he called out.
“Who is it?”
“Thomas Edgar Allen we need to talk. Open the door now!” A loud voice responded, Thom walked over to the door and peered into the peephole. He was shocked and nearly fainted when he saw that there were three men. The first wore the official San Gerome Officer gray uniform; the other two wore riot squad gear. Thom recovered himself, and slowly opened the door.

“What do you want?” asked Thom trying to hold back his anger that there were military police at his door. The officer shot him a look, before returning to his previous demeanor.
“Thom, you are no doubt aware of the growing tensions between the Federation and the Republic?” before Thom could answer, the officer continued
“Well, we fear that the Federation may soon declare war and try to succeed from us. Because of this we’ve issued the draft policy. Thom, you’re 20 are you not?” Thom nodded, and his eyes shifted around as his mind raced for possible ways out.
“You’ve been drafted then, you will report to us at 0600 tomorrow.” As the men turned to leave, Thom blurted out the first thing his mind drew up.
“What if I don’t want to?” he quickly slapped his hand against his mouth, hoping he hadn’t actually said that. The officer turned, and laughed before drawing a pistol. Pointing it at Thom, he responded in a cool leading tone,
“There’s not ‘If I don’t want to’ you’ve been chosen by God and by Country to serve. Should you not, we’ll make you. Now good day,” he turned and left. Thom slammed the door, and looked around the living room. He was angry, both at himself and at the military having the audacity to force him to join. He then walked back to the kitchen, and began talking to himself.
“There’s no way I’ll join, they can go one without me. But if I don’t join, I’ll be forced too and if I still refuse I’ll loose everything. How can I not join?” He sat down on a chair, and buried his head into his hands. Before it hit him, slowly he lifted his head and looked at the eviction notice. Slowly lifting it up, his hands shaky he read the amount owed. 50,000 Goak throwing the notice down, he grabbed the military flier that was always put on everyone’s front door. Looking it over, he read the pay and cracked a smile.

He was going to fight it’d be the only way to get the money to pay off the debt.


The clock tower rang 6 O’ Clock, putting down the riggings Ryan looked at his buddy up in the crows nest and shouted,
“Work’s over I’ll meet you in the galley for dinner.” His fried nodded, and Ryan went down below the decks for dinner. As he entered the galley, he noticed the scent of onions and beef. His favorite, but he noticed something different cinnamon. This meant that Bert wasn’t cooking, groaning at the though of anyone but Bert making his dinner Ryan walked to the back of the room. As he got to the back, he looked around before opening a note he’d been keeping in his boot.

‘At 6:30 destroy the ship.’ Ryan tucked the paper back into his boot. As he approached dinner he ate it quickly, and headed back to the main deck. He looked towards the clock tower, it read 6:25. Leaning over the side of the ship, he spat into the ocean. He thought to himself,
‘I don’t know if I should do this, I’ve gotten to know everyone here. But, at the same time this is the enemy. This is the republic...’ He contemplated for a few minutes. Before walking back to the door to the armory, before opening it he took a deep breath. Stepping into the dark, he lit a candle and placed it on a crate. Slowly lifting the glass case, to a rifle he looked back to make sure no one was watching. Grabbing the rifle he loaded it, before moving on to the gun powder. Grabbing a box of it he emptied it into his bag. He repeated this process twice, and with three burlap sacks of gun powder. He took them to the back of the room, brushing off the dust on a wooden sign which had faded peeled red letters read ‘Entrance to the lowest Deck.’
Grasping the rusted brass handle, he pulled the door open and walked down the stairs.

This is pretty good so far, although I think there are grammar and spelling errors. Still, you're pretty good.

Thanks, yeah the grammar and spelling errors are few and far between. However this is a rough draft so it'll definitely be better.
