I realize that I have two draft threads open in your subforum, my bad, but I'm moving away from the Execution project and onto this challenge. As you all know, GA#49 has been the bane of WAers since it was passed, and has been the source of many repeal attempts. After two failed attempts, it basically is seen as impossible to repeal, but from experience I know that if I can get a good stack in place, this has a chance.
But with anything in the WA, a good stack requires one to have the 10ki vote. The last two repeal attempts have failed majorly because 10ki and Alsted have voted them down, so it is important to me that this draft addresses your concerns and is something that 10ki voters will find acceptable.
I'd like to also point out that 10ki voted AGAINST the original resolution, GA#49, when it came to vote.. it was only after did 10ki seemingly develop an opposition against all further of its repeals. I suppose this is one of those proposals that should have received an insta-repeal, but didn't.
So please, by all means, read, enjoy, offer criticism and advice, and as always express your thoughts and feelings on my little ambitious project.
Description: WA Resolution #49: Stem Cells for Greater Health (Category: Social Justice; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.
Argument:
Let it be known that with the adoption of this legislation will come a swift and warranted end to the promotion and the exchange of stem cells by the World Assembly and the newly dissolved, Stem Cell and Alternative Treatment Research Office. Conversely, this legislation will not affect how member-nations can implement stem cell research in their own nations nor will the legislation provide an obstruction to similar but broader proposals in the future. As it stands, GA#49 is such an obstruction, however.
The General Assembly,
Sympathizing with the philosophy of some member-nations that the spirit of a resolution is more important than the letter, but ultimately valuing the lives and health of people that are risked as of consequence of a resolution more so than the intended effect of a resolution’s passage;
Recognizing that not all member-nations have made the same advancements in medical technology, some procedures that are commonly utilized by physicians of member-nations are rather primordial and prehistoric such as primal therapy and bloodletting … while other member-nations have advanced with germ theory as well as the invention, discovery or diffusion of anesthetics, antibiotics and other extremely beneficial medical advancements;
Understanding that some member-nations are so advanced that they view stem cell treatment and harvesting as barbaric and not nearly as effective as their own national health policy;
Noting that because physicians are legally protected in all member-nations to advocate and research such a technology this has sacrificed the lives and well-being of many citizens who otherwise would have received treatments that are far more advanced and effective;
Resolving to end this obstruction to less archaic health procedures and resolutions that promote all technologies to combat disabilities and degenerative diseases such as Stem Cell research, but not limited to Stem Cell research;
Hereby repeals “Stem Cells for Greater Health”.
