10000 islands Delegate straw poll!
With the Delegate election looming, we here at the University have decided to conduct a straw poll to see who may be the front-runner in the delegate election!
Using a random number generator we were able to pick 15 names (they can remain anonymous) and we have created a straw poll!
This straw poll may be inaccurate and is not a clear indication of who is the front-runner but may give us some indication. With no one declared yet, the field is wide open for candidates (Campaign declaration is in a few weeks).
The questions which were asked where:
1. Who do you think is most likely to run for delegate?
2. Who would you most likely support if they were to run for delegate?
Above is a copy of the message I sent to those who were asked.
Comments on the straw poll
As this was the first time I’ve done anything like this, it was obviously going to have problems and for us to improve it, we need to look at these problems.
- Multiple names sent. When I sent out the messages some responded by giving me multiple names, this was ok with me as I have included them in the result but compared to those who only sent me one name, it may have had an impact on the result. If anyone has any comments on this please contact me
- Choice of names: Some expressed disappointment that options were not given and that it may have been helpful to have had a choice. I did not include a list of names to pick from to leave the field wide open and also not to alienate anyone by not including their name. Again please comment on this if you’d like to see it implemented.
- Number of people questioned: In the next survey I would like to increase the amount questioned, this could give us a wider variety of results.

All answers will be confidential and will not be divulged to anyone other than the dean.
What we here at the University would like to know is:
1. Who do you think is most likely to run for delegate?
2. Who would you most likely support if they were to run for delegate?
It would be great if you could answer these questions and send them back to this account (the university account) through Private message as soon as possible. Thank you very much!
If you do not wish to participate that is fine
