Flux Core Capacitors:

Purpose: Generates powers for rocket engines to propel rocket really really fast.

If a flux core capacitor looks to be broken, leaking, or sparking, run away as fast as you can. Imminent explosion will occur. The practice of using flux core capacitors has become a thing of the past, and has been replaced by warp drives which are much more stable.

Ummmmm. Security Clearance Granted Welcome to the class. We are still discussing flux core capacitors, and their way of being very unreliable for rocket travel.

According to Uniwiki (2012), "The capacitor is a power storage unit that is tapped to activate fitted modules on a ship. While your reactor supplies a flow of power, such energy is difficult to store. Imagine trying to store electricity from the outlets in your home. Your ship's capacitor has the ability to store a certain amount of power, and to draw power from your reactor at a certain rate".

In essence in order for a surplus in energy to be stored greater than what the rockets reators can create at any given time, a capacity must be utilized.

Surely the best way to fix this is to kick 'Murphy' in the balls? Really hard? Then his stupid law can get done with and we avoid it breaking again?

Scientists created an eternally working capacitor, but they needed to get an older version to work in order to be able to install it properly then bring it back to us? It was ready in a couple of centuries. The irony of this is, that if the old version worked we wouldn't have had to wait the 200 years.

Even better, maybe they should of stopped bying IKEA flat pack capacitors?

Our research department is currently attempting to create an on demand power source so that capacitors wont be needed. Such a nuisance they are. We would be happy to have the class on the team.

Absolutely, they were needed to store the energy that the power generator could not create at any given moment. In rocket science, they are generally used to store energy for auxillary power units. With our current research these will be uneccessary as our source of energy for the APU will be able to supply a surplus of energy.
